♾️ The Salon of Intimacy ♾️ - Curated by Fran, Adom and Muthoni #ArtistInFocus Fran (Just Fran) is a multidisciplinary artist who exists in a perpetual state of flow. Based in Accra, Ghana where she has been living since 2017, this self-taught creator channels her artistic vision through drawing, painting, film, mixed media, tapestry-making and collaborative work. Fran’s work is a testament to her urge to live and create as intimately as possible, constantly exploring the depths of human connection and the spaces we inhabit. With a background in Cultural Anthropology, Art History and Film theory, her work has been exhibited internationally and reflects a deep interest in capturing life’s raw, unfiltered moments. “Art is my language of connection. I explore intimacy not as a fleeting moment but as a way of being—an ongoing journey through layers of self, encounters, and the world. Through my work, I seek to uncover the quiet, often overlooked spaces that bind us together—within ourselves, with loved ones, and across communities. There is power in this deep interconnectedness, an opportunity for collective growth and expansion. Fran’s tactile tapestries, vibrant paintings, layered collages, immersive soundscapes, and intimate short film transforms the salon into a dynamic landscape, inviting viewers to reimagine space as a vessel for growth and belonging. Emerging from a collaborative curatorial process, the exhibition transcends the visual, blending soft textures, ambient sounds, and sensory warmth to create an experience that feels both deeply personal and shared. Floating figures symbolize freedom, circular motifs evoke interdependence, and every element weaves a narrative of healing and community. This is more than an exhibition—it is an invitation to connect, reflect, and be held by the threads of art and intimacy woven into every intentionally curated space. “I got you, truly” [2026] who’s truly there, unconditionally and not because it’s sweet, sexy or comfortable? who’s there when it gets heavy, nasty and challenging? who’s there for you and who are you there for?

“keep on shedding” [2026] i still get surprised how the work speaks back to me. how it manifests out of a particular state that would have been different on another day. i didn’t intend to tuft an outpour of tears - it happened. it truly mirrored what i was going through and worked as a reminder that releasing is always stronger than holding on. to more happy and sad tears. all of them are welcome 🤍

“water yourself baby” [2026] …. it might be hard sometimes but (y)our flowers will bloom (again) one day 🥲💦🌱🌻 while creating the sketch for this work, i kept thinking of my dear friend @aa_ofosu , whose words often remind me of the importance of carrying oneself with grace. it also reminded me of how temporary everything is, that no form lasts yet nothing disappears. it made me think of loved ones that are far or distant in different ways but it doesn’t change the love i hold for them
