For the Met Gala 2026, anOnlyChild presents “Costume Art” where the body becomes both sculpture and illusion. This piece explores the female form through its natural curves while amplifying volume to create a new, architectural silhouette.
A structured wool mohair corset reveals the inner mechanics of shaping and construction, with a liquid silk satin skirt that moves in contrast, embodying fluidity and motion. Together they form a dialogue between control and release, structure and softness, defining the body between reality and illusion. The silhouette is shaped to reflect Venus Williams’ strength and emphasizing the precision and power of her form.

Rei Ami in custom anOnlyChild for the Billboard Music Awards
Congrats to @rei.ami , @ejae_k and @audreynuna for receiving the Women of the Year Award. We create with the mindset of empowering women to feel and look their very best, and we’re honored for Rei to wear us for this momentous night. Special thanks to @ayumiperry for putting us together.
anOnlyChild was born from making something from nothing, inspired by the power of the women who shaped us. As only children of immigrants we build from the ground up, by giving new life to what has been overlooked and making it our own.
There is an unseen excess of waste before a product is presented to the public. We ask ourselves how we can exist as a brand without adding more to it? To challenge ourselves and consider these factors while not compromising on our vision and design. To take material excess and use as a point of inspiration and not a hindrance for each new piece.
Winning the Sustainability Award is deeply meaningful to us as we continue to build with intention. We’re grateful to the @fashiontrustus and all the judges for their recognition and support as we grow.
When ARTNOIR launched, visibility for Black and brown creatives was painfully scarce. Today, its members are not only thriving, writes ANN BINLOT, they’re reshaping the cultural landscape.
