@practicegallery was everything. I’m so lucky to have had an opportunity to not only present a new show during philly’s fringe month, but also to keep working on it every day for the month, which is unusual for fringe, where you’re normally loading loading in 15 mins before the show then loading out right after. With this residency, I could give myself and the show both room to breathe and to dig deep.
TBH being away from home was really hard- way harder than I expected. I learned/ reaffirmed what I already knew, which is that I am at my best when I get to move and think sloowwlyy. I’m still recovering in my body and brain from trying to fit that slowness in with the implicit stress of creating a performance, especially without my usual homebody-habits to keep me regulated.
BUT! I’m feeling my capacity open back up A LITTLE! Enough to make a post and admit that I am really proud of myself and my team. Writing and rehearsing in PGH with
@ericbernat and
@oryantheomazing . Late studio nights watching broad city and painting props with
@sophie_on_a_walk and
@billyxblades . Getting silly and brilliant with
@yakas_campfire .
@jerrykaba having a way to help us find every resource we could possibly need!
So many dear friends came from near and far to catch a show. It’s insane how much that meant to me to see those faces, even if I didn’t end up getting to ~socialize~ with like, anyone!
My fav activity since getting back has been sitting with Sienna in different places in Pgh.
My second favorite activity has been rehearsing for
@brent_henry_ ‘s SCI-FI play, “Fracture’s Void.” We have one more show! Tonight, 7:30 at
@theglitterboxtheater as a part of the sci-fi play fest!
