If there are any musos who can spot which bar I miss a quaver I’ll be impressed 😎🤓
A first try on the bombard! You may want to turn the volume DOWN 🎵
A trip to a remote hilltop with @helen_clarinet who showed me the ways of this incredible instrument and taught me a couple of Breton folk tunes. Thanks for the adventure! ❤️
What an absolute treat it was to see ourselves on the big screen on Wednesday! A brilliant evening with the wonderful @cityeye_media and @southamptonforward celebrating stories of belonging. ❤️
We heard many fascinating tales from different communities, cultures, religions and artists across the city and it made me feel very proud to call myself a Sotonian.
It was wonderful to share our project with a wider audience and to celebrate our shared humanity through embracing our differences.
Thanks to @mattbrombley for making such a superb film and to both Matt and @poojaangraindiansinger for the awesome collaboration.
I can’t wait to give the premieres of these two brand new pieces for oboe, cello and percussion next week at St Denys Church alongside @joley_cragg and @nicolaheinrich0105 .
Laura Moody (@msmoodymusic ) talks about the QuantumBirds project and how it ‘inspired her to write a piece which glimpes processes unfolding in realms beyond direct human perception, bringing to mind Joni Mitchell’s observation that “humans are hungry for worlds they cannot share.”’
Meanwhile, Ed Driver (@ed_ftd ) explores incantations from the oboe, which hurl the music into a burst of activity and set a lively dance in motion. Using fragments of Slavonic rainmaking songs, Ed has written a lively, virtuosic and exciting work.
Tickets available on Eventbrite, check out the bio on insta or visit soplaylist.eventbrite.com ❤️
Super chuffed to read this lovely review about my EP today which features awesome pieces by @matthew.kaner and @heloisewerner . It’s a few years after the release now but great timing as I have two performances coming up of Heloise’s Double Incantation with @nicolaheinrich0105@soplaylist and @unimusicbirmingham later in February.
Please please come along to the next @soplaylist !

Always love my little Christmas pupil concert and party! 11 of my superstar pupils came along this year and performed one or two pieces in my tiny music room crammed full of people!! 🎵🙂❤️🎄

A wonderful @soplaylist solo gig from @smallsarah
Exquisite playing and programming to a wonderfully curious and attentive audience.
We were delighted to host her at Bitterne Station, venue 23 of her cycling tour after more than 4000km! Who knew you could get everything you need to live on a bicycle: tent, sleeping bag, office, clothes, waterproofs, food and most importantly a viola de gamba!
Also super lovely to reconnect with Sarah after a few years and bring her gorgeous music to my local community.
Message me if you want to know about future @soplaylist events or follow us! 🎵
