Ollie brought Ray Charles into the week “Golden Prize”, a Japanese pressing with obi strip found in a record shop in Japan. Some records find you on the other side of the world and feel like they were waiting there all along. Mama went with The Doors “Greatest Hits”. Late nights, sixth form, Light My Fire and wondering what it must have been like to be in a room with that band at their absolute peak. Some questions music never quite answers. It’s our Instagram Friday Vinyl Club time! This week, we’re thrilled to welcome @anna_downunder to the Friday Vinyl Club. Annalisa is a huge member of the instagram vinyl record community and submits “Tunnel Of Love“ into the club. Released in October 1987 it’s the Eighth studio album by @springsteen So why choose this album? Annalisa explains: “I love it because it’s so different to his previous album of rock anthems, “Born in the USA”. To me it seems to be a more personal album as Bruce was breaking up with his first wife. It just resonates with me more than a lot of his other albums. “Brilliant Disguise” has been called a heart-wrenching song about never being really able to know someone. And I saw him sing “Tougher Than The Rest” live and it was amazing.
