The Earth | Tree exhibition by @kkaa_official at @copenhagen_contemporary is a sensory encounter of architecture, nature and materiality. Crafted from @dinesen Douglas offcuts, the installation forms a wooden canopy, grounded by @petersentegl tiles and illuminated by @ankerco . Together, the materials evoke the Japanese expression, komorebi, sunlight filtering through leaves, creating a poetic interplay of light and shadow. You can explore Earth | Tree until 21 February 2027. Discover more via link in bio.

In Milan, this year’s Salone del Mobile draws to a close in spectacular fashion. Great energy and stunning new designs from our partners we can’t wait to introduce. Like Venetian legacy brand @baroviertoso here, adding a new thrilling chapter to its more than 700 year long story of outstanding glassmaking in Murano, Italy. Rooted in a philosophy of “gentle architecture” – an architecture that emerges in dialogue with nature, place, and people - internationally acclaimed Japanese architect and studio @kkaa_official present Earth | Tree at Copenhagen Contemporary. In this installation, Kengo Kuma Architects & Associates set out to explore fundamental architectural elements, earth and wood, air, light and shadow. Through the prism of the Japanese term komorebi – an aesthetic concept describing sunlight filtered through the leaves of trees, creating a dappled interplay of light and shadow on the ground, KKAA conceived an earthy, sloped terrain under an airy canopy of handcrafted wooden panels for us to wander. Concept by @ikeguchy at @kkaa_official Handcrafted wood tiles from offcuts by @dinesen Handcrafted bricks and shards by @petersentegl Textiles by @kvadrattextiles Bespoke lighting by @xal_lighting Lighting design and scenarios by @ankerco CCreate: Kengo Kuma/KKAA, Earth | Tree is now open to the public until 21 February, 2027. In a small side street in the heart of Copenhagen @norseprojects has created a menswear store that feels both considered and effortless. The space reflects a generation drawn to thoughtful aesthetics and enduring quality, and in collaboration with Norse Projects we set out to develop a lighting concept to integrate seamlessly with the interior and enhance the overall atmosphere and urban aesthetic. The lighting introduces a clear rhythm throughout the store, helping to define zones and guide movement in a subtle and intuitive way. It brings structure without taking attention, allowing both the interior and the collection to stand out. A flexible system with interchangeable optics makes it possible to adapt the atmosphere over time, supporting changing layouts and new collections. Fixtures can be repositioned and adjusted as needed, keeping the lighting relevant as the space evolves. The result is lighting that supports the presentation of the garments with clarity, depth, and excellent colour rendering, reinforcing a cohesive expression that feels true to the brand. In Copenhagen’s Nordhavn, Pas Normal Studios has created a headquarters that feels more like a destination for cycling culture than a traditional office. The space brings together workplace, retail, training, and hospitality, reflecting the same precision, attitude, and community spirit as the brand’s performance cycling apparel. At street level, the store and café welcome visitors to browse collections or enjoy a coffee. Designed by @oeo_studio the interiors are refined and cohesive. Our role was to develop the lighting concept for the headquarters and create a lighting framework that supports the architectural vision while allowing the identity of @pasnormalstudios to remain the central focus of the space. Stepping into @hellemardahl ’s brand store is like entering a living artwork. How do you design light for a space where colour, transparency and sculptural glass carry such a strong identity? For this project, our aim was not to add more, but to refine, by working with precision, restraint, and sensitivity. In close collaboration with Helle Mardahl, we explored how technical performance and artistic vision could merge seamlessly into a single, cohesive concept. The result is a layered lighting strategy that quietly enhances the atmosphere, keeping the artworks themselves firmly at the center. Read the full story on our website (Link in bio)
