First trail race for a long time, thanx to @shy__shy_03 ! Did the @theonerace.events at Marlow on Sunday. Super organised race with loads of enthusiastic and friendly marshals, awesome wooden medal, that even spins and nice treats at the end! Highly recommend the race as well. Very well marked, three hills with good elevation and mixture of road and trail. Don’t particularly like pure running races, but trying to get out of my comfort zone. Race started directly into a gentle hill climb, before we went into the woods. Three hills were to follow at 2, 4 and 6km, last one was quite a biggy. 6.5k and 10k races all started together and we were split at km 4. From there on I had two ladies just in front of me. Both were better on the uphill section, but I was faster and more manic on the downhills. So I’ve kept them in reach with the plan to try and overtake them on the last downhill to the finish line. I’ve managed to catch the lady just in front of me, but the 2nd one also sped up and just got through the finish line before me. As we had all started at the same time, I had no idea, how many runners had finished before us, so I was very surprised, when I found out that I was šŸ„‰ of all the women and 5th overall for the 6.5km. Super chuffed with myself! (Some yummy #quarkmutzen as after race treat!) Also well done to @shy__shy_03 , who came 5th and to @ocrlou_fitiq , who gave @wargraveviking a good fight. Thanx to @deltafitnesspt for getting me stronger and back to running. @team_atlas_ocr #trailrunning #ocrtraining #spartanwomen

Sunday - or just try to kill me day! 🤣 ā€œJust let us go for a run around the blockā€ @shy__shy_03 said! 5km running, numerous high rig work, farmers and sandbag carries and low rig work later, I was done for the day! @team_atlas_ocr #ocr #ocrtraining #ocrtraining #obstaclerace #britishobstaclesports

We run out of excuses not to go out for early Monday morning run, so we were back on the roads today. 12x200m with 1min brake in between sets. It all went better than expected, even the sun came out. #twogermansonarun

Full @deadly.dozen sim of all labours at FIT IQ organised by and with @ocrlou_fitiq done today. It was an absolute killer especially as I hadn’t trained for it, so pretty happy about my time of 44:50min. Questioning my life choices at the end 🤣🤣 @deltafitnesspt , I still have some work to do

Finally finished this climb and got over the green most annoying blob in the middle of it! I love small tiny holds and my fingertip grip strength is one of my strong elements. Now I have to get onto massive holds to get out of my comfort zone. @deltafitnesspt @oakwoodclimbing #ocrtraining #ocr #bolder #boldering #womenover50rock #spartan #spartanwomen

Less than a month to go for the OCR World Championships in Sweden! Our boy has done amazingly since he started his OCR 100m journey @fitfest_uk in Birmingham. He always loved doing obstacles, climbing @oakwoodclimbing as part of the academy, doing proper ninja stuff at @true_function_ninja_training with the amazing @diontrigg , working on his strength @a2b__fitness and working on his obstacle speed techniques at the amazing FITIQ tunnel thanx to @ocrlou_fitiq . But discovering the 100m discipline was a proper eye opening moment for him. Since then he developed amazingly in technique and speed, which resulted him being selected @britishobstaclesports to represent Great Britain in the 100m OCR European championship in Portugal, where he reached the Quarter finals. And now we are nearly off to Sweden. So please help him to get there. Any donation is highly appreciated. https://gofund.me/835bfaa2 @team_atlas_ocr #ocr #ocrathlete #ocr100msprint #ninja #obstaclerace

Finally made it to the top and down again. Although faffed around a bit on the last two steps, it was my 2nd go in a row! Not bad for a woman over 50. šŸ˜‰ Super proud of myself! The strength training with @deltafitnesspt is coming on well! @true_function_ninja_training @britishobstaclesports #britishobstaclesports #ocrtraining #spartanwomen #ocr #50plus #ocrathlete #ü50 #ageisjustanumber

Running is hard and cruel! Yes it is easy as you can just go out and do it, but it has massive challenges. Running means pain, pain in your body, in most parts of your run as your knees and joint and any part of your body, which wants your attention, will@hurt at some point. Physical pain I can manage and work through, but then there is the other side. Running is cruel as you are on your own with your head and thoughts. Yes you can listen to music and try and keep your thoughts occupied that way, but it is still you and your thoughts. This part is even more difficult for me to cope with than the physical pain. Either I have the usual common, I’m not good enough or not fast enough, I’m going to die thoughts or my head is trying to deal with situations and events happen in my life. Decisions I have to make and don’t want to make, showing strength, when there is not a lot and just being on your own with your head. So I don’t avoid running and especially longs runs, because of the physical pain, but because I don’t want to deal with my head! Went out for a run this morning! Running is hard and cruel, but I did it and I do feel a bit better now!

Amazing B’day party @ocrlou_fitiq tunnel for my great and wonderful ruck partner @dawnjolleys for her 21st šŸ˜‰! We all had a fun time and proofed that we are still kids and don’t need alcohol to be silly! I also made chocoholic birthday šŸŽ‚ cake, which they all devoured in minutes! 🤣🤣 Next time we will see each other will be in Portugal.

First time off to @rumblefitness_uk yesterday for evening for obstacle training. Warm up already indicated that it would be a hard session: three times run around the field followed by taking a tyre around the outside course! 😳🄵 After that different obstacle and rigs inside, outside course with low rig and walls around the field again and start again. Everyone was super nice and friendly, and with a lot of encouragement and good advise by @meganaurora_ , I finally managed to do the firemen. Not pretty, a lot of pfaffing around at the beginning and I’ve missed the bell, but felt absolute awesome to finally do them. Definitely going to do this more regular now. Strength has also massively improved again since I’ve been working with @deltafitnesspt . @team_atlas_ocr #ocr #ocrtraining #obstaclecoursetraining #spartanwomen #ocrrunner
