𝓗𝓸𝔀 𝓭𝓸 𝔀𝓮 𝓻𝓮𝓶𝓮𝓶𝓫𝓮𝓻 𝓹𝓵𝓪𝓬𝓮𝓼 𝓽𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓼𝓾𝓷 𝓬𝓪𝓷’𝓽 𝓽𝓸𝓾𝓬𝓱 𝓪𝓷𝔂𝓶𝓸𝓻𝓮? 2h with @_milamour @urghleshmeck @bbbastik at Boisé Steinberg for @angles.of.consequence 14 june 2025 We gathered at Boisé Steinberg, an unruly woodland adjacent to Rue Hochelaga, for a site-specific installation and performance. Through the medium of reflected sunlight, we celebrated the boisé and the many efforts to protect it by its community while navigating ecological mourning, memory, and collective action. It was a really, really good day. Thank you @culturenaturestructure and the entire research & production team for your help in all its forms over the past year. Thank you to everyone who joined us and trusted us to participate. Thanks as well for support from LePARC, the Milieux Institute, SSHRC, & CALQ. Photos by @eugeonpi 🩵💙

TODAY 11-12PM ON CKUT 90.3FM (ckut.ca) 🌞 On today’s show we’re joined live in the studio by Lucy Fandel (@lucy.fandel ) and Isabella Leone (@rockharlequin ), artists of the site-specific performance piece “Refractions” which took place at the Montreal Suncor Refinery on June 20-21. Suncor is a significant player in Canada’s oil production landscape; across from this refinery is Canada’s largest phytoremediation project. As a part of the Angles of Consequence series, which uses reflected sunlight as a creative form of climate accountability through performance, Lucy and Isabella’s piece contends with the tensions present on this site and the massive scale of Suncor’s oil production that parallels the distance between humans and the sun. Refractions, a site-responsive dance work with @lucy.fandel is happening this weekend! Friday June 20th and Saturday June 21st, as part of the @angles.of.consequence performance series. This has become a very special work for me, and I am very excited to share it and curious to how it is received. Refractions takes place on a street between the suncor oil refinery and an urban phytoremediation site. It is the fruit of many months of spending time with this specific place, dancing with mirrors and willows, and tracking the movements of the sun. We are exploring hidden labour, orientation and acts of close attention. I have lots of thoughts and feelings to share about this work and process, but to be honest my brain is currently a bit fried by making it. So for now, I will just say: come! Bring your pal who studies urban planning or has never been to a dance piece before or who loves industrial sounds or butterflies. Or bring your pal who loves cycling and join the bike train! For real there will be a group cycling out there together. All of the info is on the eventbrite link on my profile — it’s a free event! Register for the exact location and all the details. 📷 @pahgey_ 🌱🌱🛢️🛢️🌱🌱

At our residency / latest @angles.of.consequence field trip, we explored how to cultivate space for collective mourning, commemoration, and action, as the places we’ve known (or may not get to know) are transformed by climate change. Thank you @groundworks.space . Thank you Kristen and Frank. Thank you @artopilot . Thank you @bbbastik and @_milamour . Thank you sunshine. Thank you plants. Thank you minerals. Thank you chickens. Thank you @lecalq . Thank you thank you thank you.
