Burning Man is whatever you make of it, but no matter what, you’re going to learn some lessons along the way. Some of them are tough. How you react to the challenges out there says everything. I’ve lost friends because of it, sometimes it’s broken me. But the most important thing it’s taught me is surrender: knowing when to let go of control. You can’t control when you’ll arrive, when you’ll leave, or what the Playa will throw at you. What you can do is learn resilience, patience, and hold onto hope.
Burning Man isn’t easy it takes a little bit of madness to commit to something you work toward all year, only to have it cut short. And all you want to do is go back. But when you come back to the default world, the adjustment is heavy and depressing.
After four years straight, I’ve decided to take 2026 off. I’ll miss the Playa deeply, but I know I’ll return in 2027 ready for it all over again. #burningman #brc #blackrockcity #bm2025 #burningman2025 #pyroasis
