40 of you showed up to hear about the Turkish government's increasing oppression of the lgbt community, and how Istanbul's queer scene continues to fight back despite facing police raids on queer events, arrests, and censorship
100% of proceeds from tickets were donated to
@transyasamdestegi helping trans individuals in Turkey to access hormones denied by government legislation
Your donations meant we raised £155 which is 8500 Turkish lira, so huge and will make such a difference. So proud to be donating to the community that we were platforming and reflects everything I want this space to stand for
I am so proud of this space I have created. Queer stories need to be told by queer people on our terms, which is why it's so important Bristol has a completely independent queer journalism platform like Show Me The Gays
