Broadcasting tonight on Resonance Extra is NAUS #1 - an hour of improvised electronics recorded live on board ‘A Slice of Reality’ at the first edition of NAUS, a series of events I’m curating there over this year, each one being archived as a radio show after the event.
As a guardian of the Slice I’m exploring and understanding the site as both a public sculpture and a private environment that sits beyond the boundaries of the usual. These radio shows are recordings of live events, happenings to explore the tensions that exist between the public and private. Curating the series around his own love for experimental electronics and improvisation is a way for me to bring communities into this setting, a chance to celebrate an underground London culture in a place that hasn’t been commercialised or capitalised, even though it lies in the heart of these very environments.
‘Naus’ refers to the Ancient Greek word for ship, and also recalls the word nausea, a ‘ship-sickness’, that reflects the artist’s feelings towards the neo-liberalist landscape surrounding the ship. The sounds created here are a form of electronic improvised noise resistance.
This episode features a remote appearance by Anina Hug, a duo of Andrej Bako and Lucia H Chung, and the 4046 Group (Matt Atkins, Regan Bowering, Lucia H Chung, John Macedo, Flynn McHardy, James Shearman, Stephen Shiell, Vicky Sparrow, Paul Watson, Tom White, Angharad Davies).

Had a fabulous time at @berlinale Berlinale76 with Ghost School which was nominated in the Generation Kplus section. Well done to the entire team that helped create the moving story of 10-year-old Rabia, when she finds her village school mysteriously closed; rumours swirl of ghosts and jinn.
Ghost School has its UK premiere at the BFI Southbank on the 1st May 2026 at the opening night at the Asian Film Festival. (tickets available through BFI website)

Today, on 8th April, for International Roma Day, we celebrate Roma culture with the reveal of our film poster. At the same time, we honour the countless Roma and Sinti victims of Nazi persecution and reflect on the prejudice and discrimination that Roma communities still face today.
The short doc, THE EXHIBITION, tells the story of Queer Roma artist, Béla Váradi, who returns from London to his Hungarian hometown to stage a public exhibition of his work. In a country where the public display of LGBTQ+ content is banned, he puts himself at the heart of his community, inviting both Roma and non-Roma residents to attend. As the event unfolds, Béla navigates the fragile line between acceptance and rejection, confronting the distance between the home he left and the home he longs for.
Premiere as part of the opening of @goeastff on 21st April in Wiesbaden, Germany.

Lovely nature up in Sichuan province near Tibet… I was up at 3800m and a bird fluttered in front of me, I held out my hand and it landed on my arm, a magical experience as we both looked at each other… Pandas are real! It was a moving experience to see them for real, to be with a big bear so close by, they’re damn cute too!!
