I am defo weeks, if not months, behind on new work - for applications, personal deadlines, and previews to show this work.
But I think it’s so important to fan off your own ‘demo love’ along the way. ‘Demo love’ is a term and a way of making, living, n loving that I swear by. It’s the joy of a raw first spark. You know the finished thing will look and sound very different, but it’s the potential of a whole world to explore out of that tiny little small moment that bites you, and you gotta move cuz you have it - so use it.
I’m researching and making (slowly) my first complete visual body of work since I was in my early 20’s. This is so undone, but I’m excited to keep finding the inner and outer landscapes I want to explore in triptych and sculpture.
And this messy lil cover/version of a beloved Labi Siffre song has just lit me up n I’m like ‘yea, unfinished shit is beautiful and holds the key to opening all the necessary doors and windows’.
Wanted to share. Not cuz it’s perfect - but cuz it actually just makes me smile.
Love and gratitude always for the spark that widens our imaginations and invites steady action to follow, despite the breaks we take n making our way back when we’ve fallen off (and are very behind haha).

Found these hiding in my archive. Paintings from a life I lived in Oslo over a decade ago. Been marinating in new imagery of what life has been feeling like of late. Curious to see what comes out as I make more space for the return of painting. Just like riding a bike… my creative mother tongue.
@and_is_phi is a multidisciplinary artist from Norway and The Phillipines. Recently dropping her debut album ‘Double Pink’. Moving between singing, poetry, writing, and visual art offers an inter-weaving of creative conversation that at its heart all contribute to her practice of ‘world building’.
Her visual and sonic work are explores themes of living in a time of depression and great social and politic shifting. Somewhere between the strife and supernatural magic of everyday life is an invitation to imaging our next steps.
