Earlier in the year after going to plenty local shows and missing out on more because of crazy life. @krystal.spear , @nawahineokalai and I decided that we wanted to celebrate our birthdays with music! So I reached out to all our friends and they pulled up strong last night on a random Sunday! @ebaydungeon thank you for creating a space for everyone and then showing, everyone can start a band! Thanks to @harborsvintage @3rdspacehonolulu staff @ellioot_foot for a long day of work with lights Hammahjang debut show! @podageemindvirus for a crazy set @yourmomisthemauve brining it every show they play @thepatrickcastro emo DJ for the decade @bbj8o8 for covering the show for eternal archives! All friends and people who came out last night but also everyone who go to local shows regularly. Your choice allows every performer to continue their creativity and not have to move away from home to do it. Please go support local music and art scenes. We all need it more than ever. What a year! I’d like to start by wishing Happy Birthday to @nawahineokalai ! She’s been a rock during an extremely challenging year but also continued being the navigating star for me to hold fast to. Since we moved to Hawaiʻi in 2020, Nawa has always helped orient and ground me where ever we go and make me feel comfortable with all our surroundings. I feel the deep love and magic for each mountain, valley, tree, winds and rains because of her. Can’t thank her enough for everything but specially the patience and love she has for me. I also wouldn’t have been able to do half as much without the support of all the amazing family and friends around me. Thank you all for being there and making it a better place for us! Go support arts, and try to discover new local artists. There’s a lot out there just need your support. Thank you for all the birthday wishes!
