Lucky number 4! In numerology, the number 4 represents discipline, consistency, a strong foundation, and hard work. I’m psyched to bring home my 4th Emmy Award, (and 2nd Heartland Emmy) alongside the hard working teams at @ikonpass @gnarlybay Shout out to the many talented folks on all sides of the lenses and mountains who brought the ā€œMy Ikon: My Lensā€ project to life. It’s always a dream to film @arapahoe_basin and it was a treat to get to help share a slice of @stephenshelesky and @sveairving ā€˜s stories. It was extra special to spend some of the evening with my first full time TV boss/mentor/work mom/friend Karen Weiser who was nominated for 3! Heartland Emmys in one night! Also check out my producer friend @brennahro (last frame) She landed 2 Heartland Emmys in the span of 5 minutes… one with us, and one with the super talented @lumenati.co team. Baller! Go Brennah!

It was the summer of water! I was only on my mountain bike a handful+ times this summer but I did manage to surf in 3 countries (Nicaragua, England and the U.S.) Here are a few shots from my return trip to Nicaragua and @riseupsurfretreats some weeks back. I’m still working on all things technique, but I have plenty of time since it should only take me a few more lifetimes to get good at surfing šŸ„ā€ā™€ļø Shout out to my amazing coach from the past 2 camps @free_franz . It took me a long while to finally learn that I should trust him every time he told me to GO when a large (to me) wall of water was rolling towards me. I now know that if Fran told me to jump off a cliff through a swarm of wasps into a sea of crocodiles, I would indeed make it and be just fine. I’d trust that guy to the depths of the sea šŸ™. Unrelated to Fran, I did have one very close call on my biggest wave of the trip. One of my new friends didn’t see me on the wave and started to drop in. After a few frantic screams he didn’t hear, I had to pull back out of the pocket to avoid potential sudden death ;). To see what my face looks like on what could have been my last moment on earth, check the last slide. 🤣. To my friend’s credit, once he saw me, he was magically able to pull off the wave, and I was able to ride it out, though it wasn’t quite the ride I was hoping for :) And… we both lived to surf many more waves, though none quite as big as that one. Next time! Shoutouts to my other coach @johnny_zuniga_ , my unexpected new surf sister @georgi_zueri , the source of endless pitted laughter @qtown , and @its.foufie and the rest of the @riseupsurfretreats team for another fabulous adventure. And big thanks to friends @shelbystanger and @danmullins for getting me out on waves in other locations across the globe this summer šŸ™šŸ„ā€ā™€ļø. šŸ“ø: Alvarado @elmerfloresballadares @5amray #nicaragua #surfcamp #surfing #pacificoceanlove

Diving to the depths in Dominica a few months back 🐳. While this wasn’t the deepest dive I did, it’s somewhere in the 80+ feet range, and about 1:15 time-wise. My deepest was 94 feet and 1:28 so just a bit deeper and longer. When I was first learning to feeedive, I couldn’t get the equalization right, but now that I have, the way down has been the easy part. Even on my deepest dives, I haven’t feel any compression quite yet from the pressure. At this non-competitive level, I’d say freediving is 80% a mind game. Every time I turned around it was a mental decision… I somehow had a fear of disappearing down into the depths. This would never happen at these ā€œshallowsā€ but since we were diving over 500-foot-deep waters, my mind wouldn’t listen :) The hardest part for me was the way back up. Looking at the massive wall of water above me on the return trip felt like an endless and nearly impossible journey. On my deeper dives, I was semi-convinced I’d end up blacking out or needing to take a breath under water and never make it up. In reality, physically I wasn’t close to either of these things happening, which my amazing instructor @drew.herrick and safety divers @gilliancecilia @triplepointstudios confirmed each time I made it back to the surface with more gas in the tank. But again, the mind is a funny place. On one of my deeper dives, it had been sunny when I dove down. On the way back up, the surface started to look speckly, like it was raining, but I thought there’s no way it could have been raining in the time I was down there. I was sure I must be close to blacking out and that I was seeing stars. Of course my safety divers were there on the way back up to meet me. But, I never needed them because when I got to the surface… it was indeed a passing sun shower šŸŒ¦ļøšŸŒˆ.. Here’s to taming the beast in my brain under water and on land šŸ˜¶ā€šŸŒ«ļøšŸ˜€ In the meantime, is this what @taylorswift was talking about when she wrote this verse about holding her breath? šŸŽ„: @drew.herrick #freediving #apnea #breathhold #mindgames #sunshower #dominica

I’ve been working on a little project behind the scenes. It took years of pre-production, casting, plot twists, edits, and re-writing of the story. Finally, on a clear night this past fall, surrounded by 8 strong women, ā€œBaby Boy Sabreenā€** made his world premiere, and I received my biggest credit to date in the role of ā€œMomā€. **Working title for internet privacy 😊 Yes that’s my real ultrasound. This kid is the coolest. āœŒļøā˜®ļø - šŸ“ø 1-4 & 6 @melmcbrooks - Underwater šŸ“ø: @drew.herrick - Mom Production shirt creation @twomadrid - T swift-inspired family bracelets @tngreenleaf - Big brothering by Trax the dog who came back into my life a few weeks after I became pregnant and continues to stand (and run) by my/our side šŸ¾ā¤ļø …because it takes a village ā¤ļø
