Swimming for youth mental health 🩵💦

And so great to be back on my feet again, yay!
More than 1 in 3 young people in Australia are experiencing mental health difficulties. Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young people aged 14-24. And the risk amongst LGBTQIA+ youth is devastatingly higher - five times more likely to attempt suicide.
By the end of March, I’ve challenged myself to swim 20km. By encouraging me (cos I’ve never swum that far before!) you’ll be supporting young people to access vital mental health services, saving lives.

Tonight 30 June at the Wheaty, is a wee xhibition opening with 8 local artists who make creative comment on the good, the bad and the heinous of what it means to date online. I have 9 small portraits which are referenced from a series of screen snaps I took while on a dating platform. The content, facial expressions, words on the t-shirts, background images are true to form. Posted here are two of my favourites... Come and have a gander and a jar.
