Climbing on a sea cliff really is an incredible adventure - and Pembrokeshire is a great place to start!
Kasia from @mtnspace spent two days developing her clients knowledge and confidence, so they are able to pursue these adventures independently.
“Over the two days we covered everything that goes into planning a safe sea cliff adventure - checking the British Mountaineering Council RAD for restrictions and bird bans, tide times, local MOD firing access, guidebooks, and making the most of the Rocktax app.
There were plenty of discussions, plenty of learning, and of course... climbing.
By day two Abi and Tasha where building anchors and setting up their own absails”

When it comes to best practice, experience and lifelong passions, Mountaineering Instructors and Guides have a lot of common ground.
“We’ve focused on the key areas of our work as Mountaineering Instructors and Guides. Rock Climbing and mountaineering, with a focus on decision making.
How do we decide what is appropriate to teach?
How do we check for understanding in our students?
How do we keep ourselves safe?
How to we make sure our students understand where they are and what their next steps should be at the end of the course?”

What does CPD look like to you?
Our latest round of staff training was a chance for open and honest conversation about real world situations, problem solving, and getting to the heart of our ethos. Groups from our core instructional team as well as long term freelancers headed to the gorges, the coast, and into the mountains, spending time observing, mentoring, and practicing skills to help us all deliver the best possible courses at every level.
A culture of supportive observations and open discussion, as well as a shared love of time outside, made for a productive few days.
