When the designers set out to design @bryantuniversity 's new Puishys Residence Complex, the starting point wasn't the building - it was the land. Sited on a sloping, wooded hillside at the Tupper Campus entrance, the 85,000 SF complex steps down the topography as two connected halls, clad in textured brick and anchored by a three-story glass skywalk that serves as both landmark and main entrance. It's the first thing you see when you arrive at Bryant, and it was designed to feel like it belongs exactly where it stands.

This Earth Day, we’re proud to mark one year since Amenta Emma signed the AIA Materials Pledge – and to share that our Boston studio at 285 Summer Street is the first project we’ve formally reported through it! From salvaged doors and a plotter tube feature wall to biophilic plantings and carefully vetted finishes, the studio is a direct expression of how we believe sustainability should work: not as a checklist, but as a practice. We’re grateful to the team who made it happen, and proud to have completed our first year of reporting to the AIA Materials Pledge.

January is National Mentoring Month, and we're proud to highlight two of our volunteers, Anthony Kershaw, CPHC and Claudia Martinez Casado, LEED Green Associate, who work with students through the ACE Mentor Program of America in Hartford and Boston.
Claudia shares, "I'm impressed by the students' ability to grasp different concepts and their willingness to step outside their comfort zone and learn new things."
Anthony adds, "Volunteering lets us share our skills beyond the office and reconnect with why we chose this profession. It's fulfilling to help students explore whether architecture and engineering are right for them."
ACE connects students with professionals across architecture, construction, and engineering through hands-on projects and real-world guidance. And mentors like Anthony and Claudia help students build problem-solving skills, work collaboratively, and envision career paths they may not have previously considered.
