Yeti or Not, HERE SHE COMES! In 2025 we were thrilled to officially welcome @alwaysjumpsfirst to Team Riedell! Yeti is an icon of the derby community, a captain of @gothamderby All-Stars, co-captain of @usarollerderby , and proud skater for @blackdiasporaderby and @salaam_roller_derby . Yeti is one of derby’s most strategic, relentless blockers, tenacious on the track, bringing next-level awareness and athleticism.
Before derby, Yeti spent 22 years as an alpine ski racer and Olympic hopeful, competing across the U.S. and Europe until an ACL injury changed her course. Yeti discovered derby and has masterfully channeled her skiing background into explosive derby skills on the track.
Yeti is known for exceptional edge control, generating speed while cutting laterally, and an ability to read the pack with rare precision. She favors timing and awareness over brute force, always a step ahead.
Her favorite move is what her teammates call the ‘Yeti Surprise’ when she pops out of nowhere at the top of the pack to reabsorb the jammer before they escape the engagement zone. In her own words “I try to bring big dawg energy onto the track. Like a gremlin that’s everywhere and nowhere all at once who would rather outsmart you than outmuscle you”
Beyond competition, Yeti is a phenomenal teacher. She coaches clinics across the country and internationally throughout the year and is currently booking public clinics, private sessions, and league practices.

Wow wow wow. It’s been exactly one month since @usarollerderby won the World Cup in Innsbruck. Life rolls on, but I really miss everyone. What a treat it’s been to be able to collect memories from countless amazing photographers… each album transporting me back to this unforgettable week in the Austrian alps. A bit like the smart Bald Beagle once said, the cup and the gold medal are just the cherries on top — it’s the people you have with you along the way and how you spend your time together. All my teammates and coaches who are incredible skaters and mentors and friends and role models. All the early morning bus rides, the step classes with Freight, the ice cream cones and tasty burgers across the street and a cacophonous merch hall. The meet n’ greets, late night strategy sessions, self-playing piano lessons and breakfasts complete with the Nutella dispenser. Our jammy whammies, gravy boats & sweet treats. Pre-game pep talks, mid-game offense, post-game shoutouts. An indomitable cheering section. Everyone’s forehead in 0.5 and my blocker babes braiding my hair and listening to Bricktator read Corduroy at bedtime. Learning more about roller derby than I have in a long time. The realization that *thousands* of people from across the globe are watching our sport. I am such a lucky bug to have gotten to live this experience, and am so grateful to everyone who made it what it was. Onto the next adventure, and don’t be a stranger y’all.

Yeti or Snot? It's time for FMDG's annual clinic and mixer!
The Fargo Moorhead Derby Girls are excited to bring you a full day of roller derby! Yeti and Snot Rocket Science will be teaching two clinics aimed at skaters of all levels of experience. Content will include jamming and blocking drills.
Yeti is captain of the Gotham All-Stars and Co-Captain of USA Roller Derby. She also skates with Salaam Roller Derby, the Black Derby Collective and Santa Cruz Derby Groms Legacy.
Snot Rocket Science is a 3-time World Champion with USA Roller Derby, former Head Coach of USA Men’s Roller Derby, & former Captain of Jacksonville Roller Derby. She brings 2 decades of top-level derby experience & has been coaching derby players & teams for 15 years.
The clinic is open to all genders and the mixers will follow WFTDA gender guidelines. All skaters must have passed their leagues minimum skills and be deemed a safe skater.

A month ago so many of my friends, teammates, and fellow skaters and officials gathered together in Los Angeles for what could be described as no less than a gratuitous—and much needed—celebration of roller derby and the people who help make our community what it is. We jammed, we beached, we cheered, we danced, we got fancy. We enjoyed each other’s company, made lasting memories, brought home some incredibly meaningful rewards. My favorite part though, I think, was listening to everyone—and realizing that so many other people also had *Big Thoughts* about our sport and what it means at a time like this and how it’s our responsibility to continue to elevate roller derby, and what that looks like. My love and congratulations to all (especially our GOAT @bonniethunders and my co-captain @mutchmayhem ) and huge thanks to @diamondskates123@lilygaskell316 and @helloxco for making me look good (and much appreciation to @angelcityderby for hosting, and Kitty Litter, @pagan_god , @galgo.23 and @deesphotogdump for the beautiful photos). #rollerderby #redcarpet 🥹❤️
