AG FILM PHOTOGRAPHY MEET-UP! April 28th 6-9 PM @ the Alternative Gallery.
The AG Film Photography Meet-up is for photographers who shoot film as well as those interested in getting into it! Bring your gear to show off and talk shop with other photographers! Don’t have a camera? You can either borrow one from the gallery’s collection or shop at the merch table stocked with film & cameras!
In addition to the meet-up you’ll have the option to walk around the various floors of the Alternative Gallery to take photos. Stop by the various photography studios of the artists in the building to checkout their setups!
This is a laid back FREE event that’s open to all!

FUEGO is a political art show that stands up against fascism in the most powerful way, through art.
The event will be held on Tuesday May 5th 6-9 PM at the Alternative Gallery, and features an art exhibition of political paintings from local artists, poetry readings and live music by a Mariachi.
Though the exhibit is held on Cinco de Mayo, this is not about “Sombreros and Margaritas.” It’s about us reclaiming our right to exist. The event is an opportunity to build a community from the very ground that the oligarchs are trying to destroy. It’s about the current events that are happening right now in the Country and how history will remember it. Art is resistance and we will celebrate Mexican, Latin, immigrant and multicultural roots without fear.
If they are trying to bury us we are the seeds. If they are trying to freeze us with ICE, we are the FUEGO.

🪡🧵 Come learn to sew a patch by hand at the @alternativegallery April 11 at 1pm!
My second beginner friendly class for the year will have you leaving feeling confident to sew your own patches at home. No experience needed!
All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring a patch and the item you want it sewn onto, or just an item you want to add some flair to and I will have some patches to pick from
This event is free and open to the public - I do recommend coming at 1pm to get the full instructions, but if you’re running late, feel free to still pop in before 3!
In my first class we learned how to sew a button. I included some pics from the class (thanks @maristicmoon & @artbyjayechevarria for taking them 🤓)
