At the edge of the Sugarwood Forest, Hansel and Gretel stumbled upon a gingerbread house glowing warmly beneath a lavender sky. The witch who lived there welcomed them with syrupy kindness, urging them inside, feeding them sugared treats and rich cocoa until their worries melted away. As they ate, she circled them slowly, whispering old candy spells under her breath. Hansel laughed as his hands grew heavy; Gretel gasped as her skin took on a dark, glossy sheen, smooth and sweet-smelling like fresh chocolate.
They tried to run, but their legs stiffened, their voices fading as the magic finished its work. By dawn, the witch stood proudly outside her home, admiring two perfect chocolate statues placed beside the door—Hansel reaching forward, Gretel half-turned in fear. The house was quieter now, richer in color, and the witch smiled, already dreaming of who might wander out of the forest next.
