Last week I had the joy and blessing of recording my debut album together with my wonderful friends in Almaghoot Quintet. The recording took a place at @studio.konkreet with the amazing @fiekevandenhurk . One day after the recording we also had a lot of fun performing at @paradoxtilburg ! Levantine Hues is the result of a lifetime of gathering stories from inspirational people, friends, and loved ones. Now it is finally taking shape through the Almaghoot Quintet. Today, once again, but this time in Belgium. I was removed from a performance for wearing a watermelon pin. Apparently, that’s a bigger problem than 20,000 children being ki*I'll*d, and more than 60,000 people. Peace 🕊️

This summer, something truly special is happening! I’m thrilled to be joining Veenfabriek and Oerol Terschelling to bring the beautiful work of the legendary Syrian writer Mohamed Al Maghout from my hometown Salamiyah all the way to the Netherlands. De Clown is a theatrical journey where I’ll be composing the music with the amazing Bastiaan Woltjer, alongside a fantastic team of musicians and actors. We’ll be performing 18 shows at the Oerol Festival on the beautiful island of Terschelling and yes, each performance is served with delicious food!
