Wat een inspirerende eerste bijeenkomst van De Nieuwe Vredesbeweging Rotterdam!
Eindelijk een beweging die met frisse energie en oprechte intentie werkt aan echte vrede, verbinding en een betere toekomst. De sfeer was warm, de gesprekken waren inhoudelijk en er hing een duidelijke hoopvolle vibe. Dit voelt als het begin van iets moois.
Grote dank aan initiatiefnemer Nico Haasbroek voor het in gang zetten van dit prachtige initiatief en aan Mieke van der Linde voor haar betrokkenheid en support. Jullie maken het verschil! 🙏

A musical evening where stories, sounds, and flavours meet.
The Almaghoot Quintet presents Levantine Hues — the debut project of Syrian clarinettist and composer Ghaeth Almaghoot. The music is inspired by real stories and memories, turning experiences of migration, longing, and connection into sound.
🍽️ Before the concert, chef Maher – known from a previous Mooncake pop-up – serves a vegetarian walking dinner with flavours from the Levant. Maher grew up in Syria, learning to cook in his grandmother’s kitchen. In the Netherlands, he cooked at Restaurant Lux, opened his own restaurant in Maastricht, and now regularly cooks at Verhalenhuis Belvédère.
