You’re invited to the official opening party of Bird Years — a solo exhibition by Western Australian artist @annalouiserichardson presented by @asterandasha_gallery and Lawson Flats.⁠ ⁠ Bringing together works from the last eight years, the exhibition considers how birds have woven their presence through significant moments in the artist’s life — appearing as signs, guides, reflections, and symbolic companions moving somewhere between the ordinary and the otherworldly.⁠ ⁠ Living and working on Bindjareb Nyoongar Boodja in the Peel region of Western Australia, Richardson has developed one of the country’s most distinctive contemporary drawing practices. It moved us to see so many different faces and flavours of chillers and ravers, existing in harmony under one juicy roof. The kindness, the silliness, the goofiness and sexyness!
