Out with the old and in with the new.
Photo 1. My previous live rig. 4 modular voices (one percussion) with fx and mixer. I would run the master out into an outboard mixer and use analog rytm for drums +/- torso S4 for chords vocal and ambient sounds. I loved this set up but too many choices meant I neglected some elements or didn't use them at all for long bits of my set. It also required carrying my own mixer which was cumbersome.
Photo 2. My new live rig. Drums are now in the rack. Two melodic voices (although the ssf ultra perc can also do melodies). Torso S4 handling melodies and some percussion. I will also run the torso S4 directly into the hyrlo mixer thus negating the need for an outboard mixer. Master out from the shakmat filter into oto boum. Stripped down and fits into a backpack. The digitakt 2 may join the set up here for additional percussion.... although its sound can't beat the rytm.
