The Malo Family is honored to continue Raul’s legacy. Nothing heals quite like music, and nobody did it better than Raul. He gave his whole heart to every lyric, every stage, and every soul lucky enough to hear him sing. His voice brought comfort and joy to so many, and that gift will live on forever.
Over the last five months, our family has walked through some of the hardest and darkest days of our lives. The loss, the heartbreak, and the quiet moments without Raul have been incredibly painful. But through it all, we have stayed strong because that is what Malos do.
Much of that strength has come from all of you. The prayers, messages, memories and love from around the world have carried us more than you will ever know. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for continuing to honor Raul the way you have. He loved his fans deeply, and knowing how much his music meant to so many people has brought comfort to our family during this difficult time.
Raul’s commitment to music was unwavering, even through life’s hardest moments. He blessed us with a vast archive of material that he hoped to share with the world. To honor his wishes, we will be announcing plans for future projects in celebration of his enduring spirit in the months ahead. Official information will always be shared here first.
We invite you to join us on this journey, and The Mavericks on their upcoming tour. Let’s celebrate Raul’s incredible life and legacy together.
To use Raul’s own words, “we’ll just keep rolling along…”
With love and gratitude,
Betty ❤️🩹

Zendaya has opened up about the forthcoming Ronnie Spector biopic and has underlined her commitment to making the late rock and roll legend proud.
“It means so much because they’ve called you to do it: It’s such a gift,” she added.
Spector passed away on January 12th, 2022, at age 78 after a short battle with cancer. The two became close in the years before her passing, with Zendaya sharing a picture of a Polaroid taken as far back as 2018.
Referring to the tragic passing of the Ronettes singer, Zendaya added, “I’m very sad that she’s not going to be able to be with us while we’re making this film, but it just puts a fire under me to want to do her even more justice and make her more proud.”
The Spider-Man actor went on, “She’s so important. The fact that, prior to that, I knew her music, but I didn’t know who she was, and I didn’t know her story, which I think is not fair.”
Touching upon the larger theme of the film, titled Be My Baby, Zendaya added, “For me, that is the most important thing is that we know her voice, but we know her voice,” distinguishing clearly between her musical vocals and her personal trajectory and perspective across an incredible career.
Zendaya finished, “I hope, fingers crossed, that it is up to her standards.”
The film is set to be based on Spector’s 1990 memoir Be My Baby: How I Survived Mascara, Miniskirts, and Madness, or My Life as a Fabulous Ronette. It will reportedly focus on her abusive marriage at the hands of convicted murderer Phil Spector, which she detailed at length in the autobiography.
