Alex is a dancer, choreographer, and filmmaker based in Chicago, IL. He grew up in Lexington, KY before moving to attend school at Northern Kentucky University, where he graduated with his BFA in Dance performance Summa cum laude in 2020. After graduation, he transitioned into dance filmmaking, and has publicly released two dance films, Banshee and Cardinal, and two music videos for musician Maggie Luv.
Before moving to Chicago as a freelancer, he danced and choreographed for the Lexington Ballet Company for three seasons, and has choreographed and taught for studios in the greater Bluegrass region such as: The Lexington Ballet Academy, Ambo Dance Theatre (Louisville), United Fine Arts Academy, and Sora Aerial Arts. He also originated roles in Eric Trope’s Something, Somewhere, Sometime, to live accompaniment by Ben Sollee and his band, and both originated a role and co-choreographed with Eric Trope and Jennifer Holoubek, What I Didn’t Know Before, to an original score by Ben Sollee with the Lexington Philharmonic, featuring poetry by Poet Laureate Ada Limón. Before leaving Lexington, he also had the privilege to direct and choreograph an evening-length work with filmmaker, musician, and writer Gary Wright called Diorama. He is excited to join Still Inspired for his first season with the company, and looks forward to working in process with the world of visual art.
