Honoured to meet HRH Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden. Her Royal Highness’s unwavering commitment to addressing some of the defining challenges of our time is deeply inspiring. As a @UNDP Goodwill Ambassador, the Crown Princess has helped keep attention on the importance of long-term solutions and of standing with communities facing crisis and change, including through visits to Kenya and Bangladesh. We spoke about a shared belief: development is an investment in a better future. We are grateful to have Her Royal Highness as such a committed advocate. @kungahuset . 📷: Sara Friberg/Kungl. Development is our first line of defence. Inaction has a price. And it is paid by the most vulnerable. I’m here at the #G7 Development Ministers’ Meeting in Paris. These are my 3 priorities.

What always stands out to me about Japan is how it thinks about the future. Long-term. With purpose. Through partnership. From innovation to impact, I saw this mindset in action throughout my visit to Tokyo. @UNDP will continue to work closely with partners to build a more secure, sustainable and peaceful future for all.

Innovation often starts with a simple set of questions. “What problem are we solving? And how does it improve people’s lives?” In Japan, I heard answers directly from inspiring young entrepreneurs - past awardees of Youth Co:Lab, co-led by @undp and @citi Foundation. Meet the people turning bold ideas into real-world change: • Himawari Motojima – REF Project • Shunta Igarashi - @withtheworld.official • Robin Takashi Lewis - @mymizu.co • Ryosuke Himeno - @wakuwakudriven If we are serious about scaling impact, young innovators must be part of policymaking, investment and innovation ecosystems from the outset.

For the past 60 years, the @europeaninvestmentbank and @UNDP have been close partners in supporting human development and shared economic progress. From the #SpringMeetings in Washington, we have a strong message for the world: we will stay the course.

You cannot build a future on a minefield. In Syria, unexploded ordnance keeps families from home, farmers from their land, children from school. Clearing mines helps people rebuild their lives. Together with partners, @undp is helping to make that possible. #mineawarenessday

Humanitarian aid saves lives. Development sustains them: restoring basic services, rebuilding livelihoods, creating jobs. Working as one, we help move Syria from crisis to recovery, and from recovery to stability. And help make Syria a success story. @AlexanderDeCroo and @TomFletcher1874 in Damascus.

@undp , @unwomen and the Governments of Brazil, the Netherlands and Ukraine joined forces at #CSW70. Too often women in crisis are told: justice comes later. But delaying justice does not create stability. It entrenches inequality and fuels impunity. Women need justice that works now.

Women are not on the sidelines of development. They are actively shaping it. In 3 months. Multiple countries. One constant: women pushing their whole communities forward. Entrepreneurs. Ministers. Activists. Invest in women. Trust women. Stand with women. We do. We always will. #IWD2026 @undp

Wrapping up my visit to Jamaica. A powerful story of recovery. Hurricane Melissa — the strongest globally last year and the biggest disaster in modern Jamaica — devastated fishing communities like Galleon Beach. Boats were destroyed, gear lost, cold storage wiped out. Today, new cold solar-powered storage is helping fishers protect their catch and rebuild their livelihoods. This is what recovery should look like: responding to a crisis while strengthening communities and local economies for the future.
