Three years ago today, on the 70th anniversary of the first ascent of Everest, I was lucky enough to summit both Everest and Lhotse. Of course 99.9% of my climb was down to the guiding team, sherpas, porters, kitchen team, Ice doctors, fixing teams and everyone else who makes it possible. @royalmarines Brotherhood walk, week 1 update on the #Snowmantrek. We have covered around 120 km and four high passes, the highest so far, yesterday was around 5000m. We have had all the weather from boiling hot to absolutely freezing. Walking over 360 km through the Eastern Himalayas, raising money and awareness for the @thermcharity "Lifting the lid" campaign. Just got to Bhutan, land of the Thunder dragon. Over the next 3 to 4 weeks, we will be walking the Snowman Trek, a 362 km journey, through the heart of the country. We are doing this for the @thermcharity and raising awareness for their Lifting the Lid campaign, which promotes positive mental health and suicide prevention. Not in the habit of chasing records but....... It's official! We are thrilled to confirm that the World’s Highest Marathon has broken two @guinnessworldrecords for ‘Highest Marathon’ and ‘Highest Marathon Distance Run (Team)’!  Following a brutal 11.5-hour overnight climb to get to the start line at the staggering altitude of 6,893 metres, the team then completed the full 42.2km distance from the summit of Ojos del Salado - the highest volcano on Earth. With temperatures as low as -30°C with windchill, and gusts up to 100kph, the marathon itself took just over 16 and a half hours to complete. Huge congratulations to everyone who took part in any capacity - from the runners, to the support team, the expedition and logistics teams (@adventurealternative and @high_mountain_la ), film crew (@chrome.productions ), photographer (@andrewgossphoto ) - you should all be so proud! Special shout out to our five marathon conquerors - @aldokane , @mrmarkbeaumont , @sibusiso.vilane , Sara Storey and BecomingX's CEO Paul Gurney. What an achievement! This event was all about inspiring people everywhere to challenge their own assumptions of what they can achieve. Completing the marathon at such extreme altitude, in incredibly challenging conditions, required trust, teamwork, and resilience at every level. The team truly proved that we are all capable of much more than we can imagine. None of this would have been possible without our amazing sponsors.
