New base line 8B+ ✅ 5/12 A long journey came to an end… It‘s been more than 2 years of learning. Happiness, frustration, passion, motivation, desperation have been very present along the way. I felt very close to climb the boulder since almost the first time I tried, but then it became a real challenge for me. The critical points that made me struggle the most were the conditions, skin situation, selfconfidence/mindset, not giving up and pressure of sending on the days that everything was great. Yesterday it finally happened but it wasn’t that easy… It was a big fight, 3 tries falling on the last go and on the 3rd one started raining. I started to clean up the pads and everything due to the rain but I checked the last video where I was extremely close and got extra motivated for one last go, even with the rain. Then everything was put together, with a big fight and almost dropping the soaked top out. Thanks to @pierremellot and @stemots that supported me on that send go and to all these people that we‘ve shared many experiences and try hard moments together on this line and to @meleksss_ _ for being there many many times in the cold seen me failing and supporting all the time and for sure to @swizzybouldering for advices, motivation and the big makita fan on the send go. I’m wishing many sends to the ones that are close and motivated for not giving up. 2023 was a blast! I really committed for first time to project boulders, before the year started I wrote down a list with 10 boulders that I wanted to climb during 2023. For me, it’s been always about doing many moves per day and climb as much as possible. Until I set a completely different goa. I have to say that I have had lots of fun and premium moments during projecting but I also had many many days where I was not doing progress on the boulders and it was hard to accept and learn from this situations. Anyway, I have already wrote down the list for 2024 so I guess it‘s been worth to be in this projecting mode. That‘s the end result from the 10 boulders of 2023. The dagger 8B ✅ 7/10 This one is very special for me. I remember when I was a little kido that I saw some photos and I though how the f**k the people can climb this. The first time I tried the dagger was one year ago and I managed to climb it in two overlapping parts, I though it will go down very quick but somehow I missed the season and I didn’t have many other good sessions on it. But yesterday was the day, almost a perfect full moon, 5° and 45% humidity made it possible. Thanks to @swizzybouldering and @melissaleneve for the crashpads, without them it wouldn’t have happened. Thanks to all the people that we shared sessions and have fun on that boulder and specially to @meleksss_ for supporting even with cold a cold evening up there. Bizarre ride 8A+ ✅ A brutally powerful yet technical line: super steep, decent holds, almost no footholds… pure fight. I first tried it two years ago and kept tearing up my biceps tendon in that T-rex compression. Ever since, it’s been in my mind as unfinished business, never wanted to try again to avoid any injury… Today, against all odds (awful conditions, damp rock) the psyche was off the charts, the fear of injury was gone and somehow it clicked. 💥💪 After countless sessions, crashes, laughs and friendships built among these trees, my heart is full. 🌲🤍🌲 Magic Wood, you’ve been a DREAM , a CHALLENGE , and a HOME. Holy limit 8A ✅ What a Boulder. What an experience. 🤯🔥 I’d been dreaming about this line for so long, that perfect moment, that perfect flash go. With only two days left in Magic Wood before moving back to Spain, I knew this was it. Conditions? Far from ideal. Nerves? Sky high. But I couldn’t leave without trying. Linus went up first, brushing and drying the dripping top-out holds. From below it looked doable, so I went for it… total disaster. Dabbed on the first section, missed the jump on the second go, arms pumped, heart racing. Then I told myself: one last go. This was the moment. Flowing through the moves, feeling light, almost calm, until I reached the top jug. Water dripping on the holds, hands trembling, a high fall waiting below. I’d never even tried this section. It was now or never. I closed my eyes, breathed deep, wished myself luck and went all in. And somehow… it worked. Topping out on one of the finest lines in the forest. A dream realised, a memory burned forever. Paradise Lost 8B ✅ Such a beautiful line in a perfect landscape. Super happy to finally tick this true power endurance testpiece. Last year I fell around 14 times on the very last move to the lip over 4 sessions. This year I came back weaker, had one session just to remember all the moves. And today once again dropped the last move… but then Simon showed me a less powerful sequence for the finish, which made the send possible. For me, this line doesn’t really feel like 8B/+, more like a soft 8B, especially if you come from lead climbing. Furka was a blast! Such an incredible place, spending over a week on the rough alpine rock right next to the glacier completely destroyed our skin. The one hour hike was always worth it to reach the boulders, but the real adventure was the two nights up there, sleeping on crashpads under a rock, taking icy showers in the morning straight from the glacier waterfall and some cryshal hunting. The boulders didn’t disappoint either, climbing under the full moon on massive blocks full of excitement that kept us psyched every day.
