Photographing Manny Jacinto for @harpersbazaarsg men cover was such a joy. He stars in Freakier Friday alongside @jamieleecurtis and @lindsaylohan two amazing women I have photographed for many years. Working with Manny felt like capturing the extended family. We built a playful concept around him in a retro office, busy and full of character, and he slipped right into the energy with charm and humor. The light was soft yet directional, creating that realistic room mood while still capturing him in the best way. A fun day, great company, and one of those shoots that simply felt right. When I started working on this story, I knew that I wanted to capture the issue’s theme of “Welcome To The Neighbourhood” in the photographs. Earlier this month, I started planning the moving in of my first home in August (!!!), and after 3 years of living in Joo Chiat, I wanted the photos to be my little love letter to the neighbourhood that I’ve been lucky to call home. It’s an area often noted for its gentrification served with a side of oat milk lattes and pricey sandwiches, but there’s a facet of Joo Chiat that only comes alive at night, when all the cafe-hunters of the weekend have left. It’s a side that most Joo Chiat-ers would know well: the late night pho stands, rowdy smokers hanging outside karaoke bars, and neon lit facades that promise (ahem) good times. Coincidentally, @lullaboyxo told me that he spent his younger years in the neighbourhood too—“kismet!” as @windyaulia would say—and with @shawnpaultan and @aungkeng , I am really proud of what we accomplished with this shoot. It’s an ode to Joo Chiat and all of its gritty, unseen and beautiful edges. Check out the story in the July 2025 issue of @harpersbazaarsg . 💜

Felt cute.

This shoot holds a special place in my heart 🫶🏻 It started with me thinking out loud “how can I make it look like we checked into the Chateau Marmont without leaving Singapore?” After rounds of discussions, site visits and nights spent scouring the web for the script of La La Land (which served as a prop to be thrown into the air later on), here we are: the new princes of Emerald Hill, checking in for a snap and a chat. Here’s to the ever-charming @zetongteoh and @tylertennn , for trusting us when we ask them to fold paper planes or throw themselves into bed.
