When I got the call to shoot The Women of Melrose Place for
@people , I was ecstatic. The chance to meet and photograph these women, whose presence defined an era of television, was something special from the start.
More than three decades after Melrose Place dominated Monday nights, we brought together six of its leading ladies, Vanessa Estelle Williams, Josie Bissett, Heather Locklear, Daphne Zuniga, Laura Leighton, and Courtney Thorne-Smith.
Back story, originally we were going to shoot on location at a house that felt very much like Melrose Place. But a week of rain forced us into a studio setting. It turned out to be a gift. Building the set became part of the story, and watching each of the women step into that space again, you could see it all come back. That part was priceless.
On set, it felt effortless. There was history, chemistry, and that unmistakable energy that only comes from time shared. Each frame became less about recreating the past and more about capturing who they are now, strong, grounded, and still magnetic.
A few behind the scenes moments of
@todd_magill and I with the cast, along with a lighting and positioning test from the day before.
Thank you 🙏🏼
