I am exhausted after a few very busy work and travel weeks. I was debating skipping yesterday’s @cherrybombe Jubilee altogether to rest, after I was sick this week. I’m so glad I didn’t. I started to get ready, putting on a new top from my CA trip, earrings from CDMX, and my fave gold sneakers—feel-good armor for the day. I listened to and participated in some amazing conversations and walked away feeling inspired, particularly with a few food writing ideas for my novel-in-progress. Coincidentally, Jubilee kicked off with a performance from @twostrangersmusical , where I would end my day with @stephaniehelen614 . I’m so glad I pushed through and showed up. Thanks to Cherry Bombe, @kerrybombe , @marianavelasquezv , and @isodinyc ’s Rita Sodi and Jodi Williams for the inspiration and connection. ❤️ #burnout #womenfounders #nyc #creativeinspiration

What a ✨magical✨ year it’s been. #whatwesacrificeformagic came out just over a year ago, and I still hear from people who are discovering this book all the time. If you haven’t read it yet and are up for a bittersweet coming-of-age story set in MN in 1968—with witches, of course—this is your time! Think Practical Magic in Minnesota. ✨ To all of you who have read it and bought copies and shared this book with the world, I can’t thank you enough for your support. And if you haven’t left a review yet on Amazon or Goodreads, please do! That will help people continue to discover the book every day. ✨ It’s such a long road to becoming an author and sometimes it feels like a blip on the radar, but when I hear that people have found it at the Brooklyn Public Library or Austin Public Library recently, that makes my heart happy. ✨ #books #bookstagram #author #authorsofinstagram #historicalfantasy

If you're a nerd like me and you love the expansive world-building of Star Wars and complex and interconnected storylines of Dune, then you'll love @veronicaroth 's new fantasy novel, Seek the Traitor's Son! - @ajdewerd #MayThe4thBeWithYou

My recent CA trip ended in Disneyland at night with Lauren and Goeller. I was delighted to be amongst fellow nerds to watch the special fireworks from Galaxy’s Edge over the Millennium Falcon. And then @laurendewerd asked me as we walked away if that was new music just for DL. Dear SIL, that is the Star Wars theme song 🤣 #maythe4thbewithyou #disneyland #galaxysedge #starwars

Scenes from a few days in Palm Desert with family—including one of the best spas I have ever been to. @laurendewerd and I got these crazy massages on a table of little quartz rocks. It was like lying in a kids’ sand table. Sun, golf with @rdewerd , spa, prime rib… followed by a nightmare 5 hour drive stuck in Coachella traffic 🫠 I’m in LA for a few solo days now and very happy to be at a gorgeous hotel with an infrared sauna. Also pictured: the duck ramen from @shirube_santamonica which healed my soul last night.

Swipe to see a #bookstagram photo shoot crashed by #cats. 📸: 1️⃣ my AWP #bookhaul, including a mix of some lovely little novellas in translation, the new Irene Solà (I loved her first book), and some purchases in service of goal of reading more poetry this year. Both poetry and translated books help my own writing process, using rhythms or sentence structures that jolt my brain out of tired patterns (extremely helpful as I'm struggling with dialogue and voice in my next project). 2️⃣ Some beautiful goodies from our clients at Pownal Street Press, including an amazing custom "Main Character Energy" perfume for the launch of their new imprint @sugarshackbooks , focused on cozy, homegrown Canadian romances (extremely relevant to this hockey-loving Minnesotan). 3️⃣ And recent #bookmail from new tfoa clients: Journeying Home, a historical novel, follows a young woman piecing together identity, family history, and belonging through interwoven timelines. Lives of a Salvager, an environmental fantasy novel, follows a young girl navigating loss and survival in a world shaped by ecological change, where language, memory, and the natural world are deeply intertwined. 4️⃣ A timely arrival from @aaknopf : I personally need some calm and lessons of resilience and grounding right now. The Lost Journals of Sacajewea by @debramagpieearling How to Be a Good Savage and Other Poems by @sanchezmikeas City Like Water by Dorothy Tse @dorothytse I Gave You Eyes and You Looked Toward Darkness by @irene_sola You Are Here: Poetry in the Natural World edited by @adalimon Radiant. We can't believe it's been already been a week since we got back from AWP in Baltimore! We've been hearing from several of the authors who stopped by our booth, where we spent the conference sharing our new tfoa swag, sharing our clients' books, and talking with authors about what’s working in book marketing right now, and where authors should be spending their time and energy. #awp2026

I’m proud to reveal a new look for the future of agency (tfoa) today. Last fall, we engaged our friends and colleagues at @archerandco__ to help us with our own brand refresh. I knew we needed expert, objective eyes on this to help us see the big picture. Company culture is something that is created over time, as a team grows, as you see where you excel in different areas, as you learn about the kind of work that you truly love doing as a team. Our initial branding was something that I assembled in a fever dream—it was bold, eyecatching, and felt like something new in the publishing support services landscape. But as we grew, those weren’t the words that we used to describe tfoa most often. In our trademark Brand Discovery session with Archer & Co—something we do with our own Brand Strategy clients—we spent time talking about our values and mission as a company, and how we hope our clients feel after engaging with us. The words that kept coming up? Transparent. Different. Trustworthy. Accountable. What began to emerge was a picture of a company that is no longer brand spanking new, but something with more staying power. Sophisticated. Elegant. Still fun and girlie, because yes, that is still very much a part of our team/ethos (you should see our #tfoa-random Slack chat!), but in a more elevated way. Archer & Co helped us translate this into a new visual identity that is full of calming blush, bold and sophisticated burgundy, authoritative serifs and cutting-edge sans serifs, and more human photography that showcases the kind, smart, creative people that make up our team, our clients, and our partners. I’m so proud of the company that we have built over the last 3.5 years, the authors and publishers that we have worked with, and the books that we have connected to readers, and I’m so excited for everything that comes next as we continue to grow. —Andrea DeWerd, Founder, tfoa
