with just 1 week until my debut album releases, I wanted to share the liner notes and tracklist to the album.
I am incredibly grateful and it feels very surreal to have these lovely liner notes by the brilliant & inspiring Django Bates, a composer I really look up to and was privileged to have a couple of lessons from back in 2022 through Jazzlife Alliance.

What better way to celebrate than announce the brand new NYJO Blueprint Orchestra are officially in rehearsals!
They will now be meeting weekly at our NYJO headquarters at Woolwich Works to go through repertoire and build confidence in playing together.
Olivia Murphy, NYJO BPO bandleader says:
“The band sounded very strong already and (our first meet up) was a really positive exciting atmosphere.
Thanks so much everyone on your work with NBO so far, I think it’s going to be a brilliant band !!”

✏️ With just two weeks until my debut orchestral release, i wanted to share the early versions of some of the album tracks.
For anyone who may be interested, I always start at the piano, improvising ideas and sketching out things that stick out as interesting. From there I’ll try and write out a short score, establishing the time, structure & form before moving to Sibelius. More often than not, a lot changes between these short scores and the final chart but it’s always fun to look back at the original sketches to see where my initial ideas came from (I always forget!).
Majority of the scores here are titled but pic 2 is Calliope & The Magpies and pic 5 is A Grey-Coated Sandbird (wrote this track in one day which rarely happens!)
