“Island of Way Back” is out today ❤️ Immensely greatful and happy to share this album with you today. “Island of Way Back” is my way back to music and life. These songs trace a journey from being closed off to opening up, of accepting, relearning, and returning in a new way. They’re an island I could retreat to in order to reorganize and find a new beginning. From this vision, everything has taken shape, structured in four parts, unfolding like four Acts. These songs are movements to me, small rituals, lived states of being, that came to life over the course of the past six years. GRIDSLOP (CH) Lua Jungck, Arthur Hnatek and Jules Martinet came together during an artist residency for Live in Vevey. In this context, the three musicians seem to have lost all sense of space and time in their shared musical interaction, as if drawn into an electronic vortex of sound. But that hardly matters: together they construct a kind of UFO, propelled by repetitive electronic music, raw punk energy, and a fearless blend of glitch aesthetics and letting go.
