today is the day I release my second EP ‘I took it from you’.
on this record I blended my voice, synths, violin and samples, and if I had to give it a genre — I would say it is a mix of experimental electronic and electroacoustic music.
this EP was produced at different times between summer 2023 and winter 2024. originally, I planned to include only four tracks, but the fifth track I produced after wrapping up fit so well, and I am happy it is in this release.
this record is important to me because it shows my earliest and most recent work. even though I reworked all the tracks, and some of them I changed quite significantly from their original versions, the core ideas remained. I made a bold decision to actually play a lot of violin on one of the tracks, which I don’t usually do since I’m not a professional violinist. but in the end I am happy I did. even if I decide to never play that much violin again, this record will always represent this part of my journey.
