This Thursday, February 19th I will be scoring an evening of ambient music as part of Somewhere Event’s takeover of the Newtown Garden Market!!
Gonna be spinning some orchestral arrangements — strings, soft horns and saxophone + ghostly choirs, and a dash of musique concrete sound design (we get freaky muhahaha).
Imagine a regal garden party that is being gate crashed by witches 🦋
I will be on at 7pm. Hannah Galvin will be opening the evening and Mo Aung will close out the night with a live performance.
You should totally come and experience an evening In The Night Garden…
Tickets for the event is in my bio. Hope to see you there :))))))

The Blue Hour series has been nominated for a fbi SMAC award for best music program 🦋
It’s surreal to think it’s been nearly two years of doing these events, with what started off as a one off live version of unfurl back in 2024
Forever grateful to the community, my friends who have inspired me to do this, all the amazingly talented artists who have performed, to Jim and the lazy thinking team for providing a platform and continual support, to Kata for all the amazing blue hour posters which has defined the series’s identity, and everyone who has ever shown up to one of the events !!
If you want to vote for the blue hour you can on fbi radio’s website or in the link in my bio 💙

Unfurl is excited to present a guest mix from Colombian-born sound artist doris dana.
~~~~~~~~~
doris dana is the sound project of Colombian-born artist Mónica Mesa, exploring the emotional tonalities of liminal spaces through field recordings, slow-moving drones, whispered vocals, and sparse, reverb-soaked electro-acoustic instruments. Named after Gabriela Mistral’s editor and confidante, doris dana gestures toward the study of quiet forms of intimacy and memory in sound.
Their latest album, reveries (Somewhere Press, 2024), offers a meditative, immersive listening experience. Mesa is also one half of the duo bad lsd trips, whose self-titled album and most recent release, ultrafest (Enmossed, 2025), expand on similarly experimental sonic territories.
In addition, she hosts No era sólida on Radio TNP—an hour-long mix series delving into the most introspective edges of sound, featuring experimental, cinematic, and free-form compositions that invite deep emotional engagement
Unfurl is excited to present a guest mix from California-based composer Lucy Liyou.
~~~~~~~~~
California-based composer Lucy Liyou synthesizes field recordings, text-to-speech readings, poetry, and elements from Korean folk opera into sonic narratives that explore the implications of Orientalism and her transness.
Combining disparate sonic elements into critically cohesive pieces, the musical world of Lucy Liyou alternates between beautiful serenity and unsettling entropy. Her latest record, Every Video Without Your Face, Every Sound Without Your Name, documents the parallel endings in familial connection and romantic love.
Liyou’s work has earned acclaim from Pitchfork, The Guardian, Bandcamp Daily, The Quietus, Them, Tone Glow, Wire Magazine, Mixmag Asia, The FADER, and NPR Music, among others, and received notable airplay on NTS Radio, KEXP, NPR, and Sonos Radio’s Radio Hour with Thom Yorke. Liyou has shared the stage with artists like L’Rain, Jessy Lanza, claire rousay, Salamanda, Drew McDowall (Coil), Theodore Cale Shafer, HTRK, Liz Harris (Grouper) and performed on stages such as Echoes at Haus Der Kunst, Cafe OTO, Send and Receive Festival, Portland Institute for Contemporary Art, and Rewire Festival.

Unfurl is excited to welcome Athens-born, Barcelona-based sound artist Daphne X on for a guest mix.
~~~~~~~~~
Daphne Xanthopoulou (she/they) is an Athens-born, Barcelona-based sound artist and designer of Anatolian Greek descent, whose work explores sonic storytelling and listening as world-building forces that rekindle our connection to the material world and reclaim our power for personal, and communal healing.
Daphne’s genre-fluid music production, at times described as ‘otherworldly’, ‘industrial pop’, persistently returns to hypnotic vocal melodies, organic textures, subtle noise, rhythmic patterns, and eerie synthesized atmospheres. Her sound uncompromisingly draws on influences from ambient, noise, club, and west asian music cultures. Her studio albums have been released on labels like Paralaxe Editions, tssstapes, and Exiles have received praise from The Quietus, A Closer Listen, and Bandcamp Daily (2024, 2021). She has performed in venues such as Cafe Oto, and Kraak Festival.
