There’s a reason why Ama Dablam is my favorite mountain. The climbing is rad, it only takes two weeks with our Rapid Ascent Approach, and the summit views are the best on the planet. I’ve climbed it 13 times and can truly say that the experience of climbing Ama Dablam is unlike any other mountain on planet earth. It’s simply the best. The @alpenglowexpeditions 2026 team only has three spots left. If you’re stoked on climbing Ama Dablam this year with us, hit the office team today before we sell out! Insane summit video from @robrtomorales 🤯

No one needs me to tell them what a badass mom @emilyaharrington is. That’s my excuse for why I skipped posting on the day itself. But really it’s because we were out doing the day instead of posting about it? There we go - two excuses. The day was a good one! A mountain run, hunting down snow plants in bloom, a swim in 50 degree Lake Tahoe, and of course some golf… looks like we live in Aaro’s world now. Em, ur love and stoke and sacrifice for your fam and friends are legend. We love you!

Cumbre! @alpenglowexpeditions is on a run of summits in South America right now. Yesterday we had three different summits, on three different mountains, on three different custom private expeditions! Alpenglow’s custom expedition offerings are some of our favorites. Want to push the limits and climb Huayna Potosi and Illimani in 6 days? We can do that. Want to climb Cotopaxi and Chimborazo and only take 5 days off of work? We can do that. Our Rapid Ascent approach makes climbing the tallest mountains on earth more accessible, and our custom expeditions allow you to fit the expedition in around your life. Reach out to the Alpenglow team today to start planning your big mountain adventure. Drone footage by: @robrtomorales

Adrian saw the Tram Face for the first time in 2008. It rises about 800 feet above the valley floor and has been off-limits for as long as he'd been coming to Palisades. Before that, he'd spent time in the Alps watching people move up iron cables on routes that should have been out of reach for them. Beginners doing something genuinely difficult on a serious mountain. Seeing the Tram Face, Adrian came home knowing that Palisades Tahoe was the right place to build something like that. Years of planning, permits, and installation went into it before we opened in October 2018. We've watched hundreds of people climb that wall since then, and many of them had never called themselves a climber before. That's who we built the Tahoe Via for.

Reaching the summit and completing a climb are two different things 🏔️ By Adrian's standard, a successful summit runs from base camp to the top and back to base camp under your own power. A climber who was carried by a teammate, flew out by helicopter, or was otherwise rescued on the descent did not truly complete the climb. He applies the same standard to FKTs, and extends it to exclude the use of oxygen or altitude medicine in professional alpinism. A real speed record on a mountain should run from base to summit and back, and if any of those things were used, the record stays open. Where do you draw the line? 👇

Really happy to send Megatronic last week. First, it’s a pretty one! Second, it made for a stellar platform for a perfect week in the desert between work trips - friends, unreal conditions, time with Em and Aaro, and just the right amount of try hard required. And third, it felt good to work out the kinks a month after my fall - the kinks in my back, and the ones in my brain! I took some big falls, including close to the ground, and worked through it. Fired up. It’s time for summer! 🙏 @drinkag1 for all of the support and baseline health I get every day as I’ve been rebuilding 🙏 @blackdiamond @lasportivana

Most of our climbers and skiers have full lives outside the mountains. A private expedition is built to fit around yours. You set the departure dates. Your guide tailors the acclimatization to how your body responds to altitude, which gives you the best possible chance on summit day. The education is specific and continuous because the guide's entire focus is on one client: you. We guide private expeditions across our full program, from the Andes to the Himalaya. If you're ready to go on your own schedule, send us a DM or reach out via email. 📸: @robrtomorales

The Khumbu Icefall opened after a 19-day standoff with a serac the size of a building. The serac is still there, cracked and active, above the only route through. Four hundred climbers are now heading up. The official statement from the body that manages the South Side: "Given the circumstances and the limited time remaining before the peak climbing season, the team had no alternative but to open the route passing below the serac." This speaks to the kind of risk that's kept Alpenglow off the South Side for over a decade. At the same time, it's created the perfect environment for us to revisit the discussion about what it would take for us to go back. New episode in bio.

It’s been 4 weeks since I took a little slip and fractured three vertebrae in my back. Suffice to say my recovery process has been a breeze next to so many friends who have dealt with much more serious injuries and protracted recoveries. That said, it’s still felt long and hard to me, so finally feeling up to flying down to Vegas and finally feeling up to climbing outside, has been so joyful. In some ways progress has been fast this week, from top roping outside, to leading, to even exploring a new crag with a not trivial approach (thanks @jonathansiegrist 💪). Interesting to me though, the head game has been harder than I expected. While my body is performing at a decent level, I’m still unable to accept real lead falls. Fear of my back not being ready, or perhaps an even less rational fear of a fall feeling like the last big one (when I hit the ground and got hurt) has not been easy to overcome. It’s only week one and I’m here for the work, so on we go. Thanks to @emilyaharrington and all the friends and partners who have patiently been getting me out climbing/stretching/pt’ing along the way! @blackdiamond

We’re hiring for the front desk role this summer at @alpenglowexpeditions ! You’ll be the first face guests see before heading out on the Via Ferrata: checking them in, getting them ready, shuttling them up to the trailhead on the Via Ferrata. Once they’re on the mountain, the day shifts to helping the next group figure out which experience is right for them. By the end of it, most guests come back saying it was the best day they’ve had outside in a long time. The guides running our Ecuador climbing school and our Everest expeditions are on the same team as the people staffing our Tahoe front desk. That’s just how we’re built, and it shapes what this job actually feels like day to day. If you’re interested in joining the team, head to the link in my bio to learn more and apply!

Two Alpenglow guides are climbing the south side of Everest this season (through another operation), and Adrian isn't one of them. Episode 53 is live now. This is part one of a series covering what's actually happening on the mountain this year. Adrian breaks down the Khumbu Icefall, the serac situation above it, and what the south side looks like, drawing on updates coming in from Topo Mena and Carla Perez, who are up there right now.
