This watercolor by Yvonne Hemingway, a local artist from Leominster, MA, is a beautiful composition. I love the way the goldfinch stares right out of the picture at us, as if daring us to come closer and take a sunflower seed. The way the sunflower is drooping with petals that are decaying is a sign of the end of a season, but the goldfinch is still a bright yellow, taking the energy from the sunflower to survive the winter. We framed this in an ebonized walnut frame with a white cotton rag mat board and museum glass bringing a beautiful high quality to a classic framing presentation.

These nesting egrets are beautifully printed on a handmade deckled edge paper. We opted to float the print on the mat to show off the natural edge of the paper. We chose a deep green mat to complement the subtle green tones in the background of the print and a frame with a silver/gold finish that picks up on those lighter tones. Finished with museum glass to protect it from UV light and reduce glare, this print sings!

This minimalist painting is a joy to look at. The pair of boats gently kissing and reflection of the moon are awash is a gray fog. It is a painting that evokes a calm and serene atmosphere. We wanted to keep the framing as simple and elegant as the painting so we chose a soft gray mat and a cherry wood frame with an ink wash finish. We finished it with museum glass to reduce the reflections that might distract from this simple painting. Sometimes it doesn’t take much to bring out big feelings.

Rediscover yourself through art! A client recently brought in this beautiful collection of prints to be framed. She shared that she was ready for a change. She was tired of living with artwork she had inherited, and ready to surround herself with pieces she truly loved. We were happy to help. Art should feel personal and inspiring, not obligatory. We had a wonderful time framing these prints, experimenting with a free creative options while staying true to our client’s aesthetic. The result is a collection that feels fresh, meaningful, and entirely her own.

Art can serve as a spark for memory. This watercolor landscape caught the eye of our client on a trip to New Mexico and now it will remind them of the trip and the beautiful landscape every time they see it hanging on their wall. We kept the framing simple but elevated it with an 8-ply museum rag mat board, a solid maple frame and museum glass.

Back at it in D.C. 💜 Installation days are the best. Love how these large-scale works by Thomas Trum bring rhythm, movement, and energy to this lobby. His signature use of color and geometry transforms the space. Bold, meditative, and alive. Huge thanks to our incredible installation team at @chesslerco for the seamlessly making it happen! #AlchemyStationArt #ArtConsulting #InstallationDay #ThomasTrum #ArtInDesign #CorporateArt #PublicArt Artist: @thomastrum Massive custom frames by @adjframes #AlchemyStationArt #ArtConsulting #ArtInDesign #ThomasTrum #InstallationDay #PublicArt
