There is often a lot of chat about how awful social media is, and it really can be, however this is a good story. I came across @francesfeatherstone work on line and fell in love with it. I reached out and it turned out she was a fan of my books! 📚💞 I started to follow her career, delighted to see her exhibitions being sell outs. Just leaving the British Library after an incredible session with @publishersassoc Big beam!! 😀I was speaking and hosting on behalf of @literacy_trust as their #ambassadør and an ambassador of @go_all_in_2026 I am often asked to talk about my relationship with reading and specifically how reading made me the person I am today. I sometimes find it overwhelming as I have so much to say and I wonder if it can all be said in the allotted time frame! I believe so whole heartedly in the power of books to level and unite our fractured society. I sometimes panic after speaking wondering if I’ve been helpful, honest, practical, realistic. Today I hosted a panel of incredible people who are examples and agents of change through reading. I think we collectively nailed it! It made my heart sing! There’s a lot to be done because not everyone believes in the power of reading or the benefits it brings, some think that it’s not for them or very practically they can’t afford books even if they want to read. I know there are problems, but today there was a room full of people seeking solutions and I felt so proud to be a small part of that. 👏🎉💞📚
