There is often a lot of chat about how awful social media is, and it really can be, however this is a good story. I came across @francesfeatherstone work on line and fell in love with it. I reached out and it turned out she was a fan of my books! 📚💞 I started to follow her career, delighted to see her exhibitions being sell outs. After a couple of years of good intentions we’ve finally met up this week! 🎉We had a total blast (we even inadvertently dressed alike!). #creatives #art #authorlife #artist

What a night! A sold out talk, private view and show! A HUGE thank you to every who came and supported me. It felt very cathartic and intimate to be sharing thoughts about my history as an artist and how it comes through in my work today. What a privilege it was that so many people wanted to hear about that. Doing the talk made me reflect on my journey as an artist. The line of questioning Lesley Samms gave me a lens through which to see my work in interesting and new ways, such as the desire we feel to step back into a simpler more timeless world. I really had the best time and felt truly honoured. Thank you to @johnknightphotography for capturing the night, The Royal Society of Arts and Lesley Samms. . . . . . #francesfeatherstone #royalsocietyofarts #londongallery #londonartscene #londonartist

A breakout year. A sell-out show. And now @francesfeatherstone is coming to @rsahouse . We visited Frances at her studio in Groombridge, Sussex, for RSA Journal to talk about her intimate ‘angel’s eye view’ portraits – paintings that invite us into domestic worlds of stillness, reflection and retreat. This month, those intimate worlds are coming to @muse_rsahouse , where her new exhibition opens on 7 May. Read the full story on RSAJournal+ via the link in bio.

Join us on 7 May for an artist talk and book signing with acclaimed British painter @francesfeatherstone a multi-award winning artist. Working predominantly in oil paints, her practice explores the interplay between figures and interior spaces, offering a window into the emotions tied to the spaces we occupy. Often, figures sit reading or lost in thought, acting both as objects within a space and the subjects that give it meaning. Through her series From the Perspective of the Angels, she explores bedrooms and private domestic spaces. Frances worked at the BBC as a Senior Designer for many years, and this has influenced her way of seeing, emphasising composition and design. She will be joined by Pure Arts Founder Lesley Samms FRSA to open the private view of her new exhibition. Each ticket includes a welcome drink and the opportunity to order a discounted, signed copy of her book, From the Perspective of the Angels. ‘Where the Wildflowers Grow’ (120x105cm). With Spring finally arriving in England, it feels like the perfect moment to share this piece. This is the largest work from my series ‘From The Perspective Of The Angels’. Looking back at it now - after its exhibition at @arcadiagallery last December - reminds me why I love what I do, especially while I’m navigating the challenges of my latest collection. I’m still so happy with the mix of patterns, textures and colours here. Inspired as always by the wonderful @helensaundersmodelling .  . . . . . #wherethewildflowersgrow #francesfeatherstone #fromtheperspectiveoftheangels #contemporaryfigurativepainting #inbed
