This past year, two records were broken — but not by athletes. We saw the hottest temperatures ever recorded and the most climate disasters to date. But like any great athlete, we need to adapt to win. Athletes around the world — from @Sterling7 , @stamp_fairtex , @chlorinedaddy , @mistyonpointe , @omeruo , and @maya — are uniting to call on world leaders at #COP30NoPará to invest in #ClimateAdaptation now. “For too long the sports industry, from elite athletics to community padang football, has treated climate change as a peripheral concern rather than a fundamental risk to our athletes’ health and the future of Malaysian sport. Today, that risk is already shaping financial calendars, athlete performance and the reliability of our infrastructure. Climate disruption is no longer theoretical; it is operational, measurable and increasingly costly. This shift is now recognised globally. In October last year, alongside COP30 in Belém, Brazil, a coalition of elite athletes and global institutions launched the Adapt2Win initiative, calling for climate adaptation to be treated as a core economic and resilience priority rather than an environmental add-on. While Malaysia’s context is distinct, the signal from global sport is clear: climate impacts are already affecting performance, infrastructure and revenues, and adaptation is becoming a prerequisite for long-term competitiveness.” Thank you to The Edge Malaysia Weekly. Winter sport is changing fast. We’re training on thinner snow, shorter seasons, and more unpredictable conditions every year. It’s not just about performance anymore — it’s about protecting the future of the sport we love. The global sports economy is massive and growing, but it only works if we protect the people and the planet that make it possible. Adapting isn’t giving up — it’s how we keep playing⛷️❄️ Read the full article at the links in stories or saved in highlights. #adapt2win #climateadaptation #winterolympics

Did #COP30 deliver action on adaptation? While progress was made, there is still a clear division on the path forward for climate action. What is undeniable is that adaptation must remain a global priority. Here are some of the key outcomes highlighted by UNFCCC: ✅ Adaptation elevated as a global priority ✅ A new push to triple adaptation finance by 2035 ✅ Stronger frameworks to protect communities from heat, floods, and climate shocks ✅ The Global Climate Action Agenda mobilized 480+ initiatives, 117 Plans to Accelerate Solutions, and hundreds of adaptation and resilience efforts — creating real pathways toward implementation Explore the full report in the Adapt2Win Knowledge Hub (link in bio). #Adapt2Win #ClimateAdaptation
