To pull this scene off in one take was both thrilling and terrifying. If we mess up in any way, we could blow the whole show.
This took commitment from the whole cast, and I’m so grateful we had an amazing stunt coordinator who gave us fight choreography training and our awesome special effects team led by @mistressofbats who taught Jean of Team Triukas how to apply the blood.
What people don’t see is that when we get whisked away in the Escalade, once we are out of an earshot, Team Triukas is cheering and high-diving each other cuz we pulled it off! Whew! It feels like winning gold at the Olympics (of comedy).
I remember walking over to do this scene, my heart pounding, but knowing I have to, as Anthony says to Kate: “Lock in “ and focus, be present, be committed, and execute with precision.

What’s so fun to experience now, is the amazing reaction people are having to the show.

I’m beyond grateful to be part of a show that serves to shine a light on the goodness in humanity. One in which over 100 creatives showed up every day to collectively walk a high-wire without a net. 😳
To get here, to book this dream role on a dream show, I ultimately had to make peace with the twist and turns, the setbacks and roadblocks, and realize it was all leading me to something even better.
To be living this dream and inspiring others along the way, fills my soul’s dual purpose.
If you’re experiencing frustration, disappointment, or a quiet time when it feels like “nothing‘s going on,” remember the circumstances are temporary, and that it’s what you tell yourself about yourself in those times that matter most.
Be kind. Be compassionate.
Be proud you are an artist.
I believe that if you have a dream in your heart, you are meant to live it in this lifetime.
It may not be on the timeline that you plan.
It may not come in the way you envision.
But roots are growing right now of the seeds you’ve planted, even when no one can see the evidence of the growth yet.

The role of a lifetime has been being a mother to my sons. I’ve discovered so much about the capacity to love, learn and let go. And to watch them grow into kind, intelligent, adventurous young men they are has been the joy of my life. 💙💙
No matter what I achieve or what accolades that come my way, it really all means nothing without friends and family. (Thanks @andygrammer for putting that into words so eloquently in a song. This one gets me every time).
I lost my own mother in 2010, a year before my second son was born. (And lost my father in 1997). But I know they are with me in spirit and oh, how proud they would be of who my sons have become and the family my husband and I have created.
And on this Mother’s Day, whether you are grieving a loss, cherishing your own mother, celebrating being a mom or even wanting to become one…my heart goes out to you.
It’s a heart explosion like no other. And a journey where you simply learn as you go. (I put my first son’s diapers on backwards for the first 2 weeks😬).
To all my dear friends who are moms- I have learned so much from each you. Dance was my first love. I grew up watching watching classic Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers musicals with my late father, dancing to Prince’s Purple Rain album in our wood paneled basement and studying at Hubbard Street Dance in Chicago.
Fun fact: I danced professionally in Monte Carlo, opening up for Stevie Wondwr, Natalie Cole and Earth Wind & Fire. And was as a bowling pin chorine dancer in The Big Lebowski.
And it all still takes my breath away. Thank you @dancingwiththestars for a beautiful FYC Emmy event shining the spotlight on your amazing show. I was moved to tears by so many of the dance numbers and all the passion and artistry displayed at the @dolbytheatre in Hollywood. What’s your favorite moment? ✨ Still taking this all in… what a ride this has been.
Talking with Entertainment Tonight, sitting at the desk of KTLA 5 Morning News, featured on The Today Show and in People Magazine… all icing on an amazing cake.
But before any of that….to work with over 100 people, all operating at the top of their game in such a high-stakes, high-pressure environment, has been one of the most creatively collaborative, fulfilling, and rewarding experiences of my career.
It tested us. It stretched us. It bonded us.
And I dare say… we all showed up #DoingItScared.😬😳😬
Not knowing if it would work.
Not knowing how each moment would unfold. But like life, we improvised our way through. Navigating the twists and turns, the unexpected moments, and even our own inner critics.
I think that’s what makes this all so special… is not only who I got to share this journey with, but stepping into something that demands so much of you, something you might not even be sure you can do, and then not only doing it… but watching it all come together in a way you couldn’t have planned.
The audience and critics responses have been incredible. And I know I’m not alone in feeling so much gratitude and love for this entire journey and how this show has been received. Thank you!!!
I am so proud to be part of a project that is not only hilarious, but so heartfelt, with the mission of shining a light on the goodness in humanity.
