I am deeply honoured to have been awarded the Osi Rhys Osmond Art Prize 2025. My sincere thanks to my tutors and mentors at Carmarthen School of Art for their unwavering support and guidance. The foundation course has been the key to the lock of a long closed door and through it, I have regained creative permission once again.
Thank you to my peers for their inspiration and congratulations to all the nominees who’s work I greatly admire.
A special thank you to the committee for this recognition. Winning this prize has been profoundly affirming for me to keep pursuing and creating on my path as a visual artist.

‘Cunabula’ - The installation audio for Foundation (Carmarthen School of Art) Rise Exhibition 2025
“This piece is composed of multi-layered and manipulated recordings of the print drying racks at Jobswell Campus. Through this process, I became deeply engaged with the unique ‘voice’ of the racks - an industrial yet rhythmic presence that emerges only at the beginning and end of the drying process. It was in these moments of activation, when the racks ‘sang’ into motion or settled into stillness, that their sonic character became most apparent.
However, what struck me most profoundly was not just the audible presence of the racks, but rather the silence - the ‘space between’ - that spoke the loudest. This interval, in which the prints quietly dried, held an almost meditative quality, an unseen but essential phase of transformation. In this silent liminality, time itself felt suspended, echoing broader themes of temporality, transition, and the unseen forces at work in processes of creation and change.
This process of waiting, of allowing something to take form in its own time reminded me of incubation.
Just as an egg remains still while life stirs within, or a thought quietly gestates before emerging as an idea, the prints undergo their own silent metamorphosis.
The racks, in this sense, act as both a vessel and a threshold, holding space for an unseen yet inevitable transformation. Through layering and manipulation of these sounds, I sought to explore this contrast between presence and absence, action and stillness, inviting the listener to consider the significance of what is often overlooked.”

Singing with space at the beautiful Wogan Cavern. Moments of transcendental transportations thanks to repetition, harmonics and channeling.
The cavern sings back.
Diolch Richard James @evolutionofbeauty_01 for inviting me to be part of your magical project - it’s been an inspiring experience for me. More to share soon.
Thank you also to the lovely pigeons.

Hello,
I've got to share something wonderful and strange with you. I have got to record and sing on a feature film for the very first time. Strange because they are mostly very intimate acapellas. Strange because that makes me feel strange. I'm hoping one day that won't feel so strange to me. Strange maybe because I have not yet seen it in it's entirety!
So...
I am over the moon to announce that 'Flathead' - Written & Directed by the inimitable Jaydon Martin, will be having it's world premiere in Rotterdam at IFFR 2024 @iffr
Screening Dates
28/01/24
30/01/24
1/02/24

Thank you again @jaydon__martin for trusting my voice. It was as cold as it is now when I made them - I think - a good thing.
Image:
Flathead note did not show itself on film, and so I've kindly written it out again for you...you know...just in case you missed it because I do want you to remember 'Flathead'.
I hope this finds you well! Deep breaths now...
