ACADIA is inviting preliminary Letters of Interest to host, organize and chair the ACADIA 2028 conference, to take place in late October or early November of 2028.
We welcome proposals from a single host institution or a collaboration of multiple institutions and partner organizations.
Phase 1 Letters of Interest are due July 13, 2026. Finalists will be notified by July 24, 2026 and will submit a Phase 2 proposal by September 18, 2026.
The ACADIA Board of Directors will work with the selected team, and the 2028 conference will be announced at the 2027 ACADIA Conference (location TBA). The selected team will receive two complimentary 26/27 conferences registrations to attend.

Submit to the ACADIA Book Forum
As part of ACADIA 2026: Humanism Recoded / Detroit, Michigan, we invite authors of books published between 2021 and 2026 to participate in the ACADIA Book Forum.
This curated program highlights recent contributions that reframe computation and making through embodiment and culture. We welcome books engaging artificial intelligence, robotics, digital fabrication, spatial computing, material innovation, theory, pedagogy, and emerging technological practices that humanize design futures.
Authors will be invited to deliver a presentation introducing their book’s key themes, contributions, and cultural impact. Selected books will also be featured in a collective exhibition space during the conference, and abstracts will be included in the post-conference proceedings.

2026 ACADIA CAAD Ph.D. Workshop Accepting Applications
Location: Detroit, MI (Hybrid)
Submission Deadline: July 1, 2026
The Association for Computer Aided Design in Architecture (ACADIA) invites doctoral candidates in computational design and Computer Aided Architectural Design (CAAD) to apply for the 2026 PhD CAAD Workshop. Held as part of the annual ACADIA conference in Detroit, this one-day seminar session provides a premier platform for researchers to present their work-in-progress to a global network of peers and established scholars from the ACADIA community.
Participants will benefit from comprehensive feedback from leading CAAD researchers, providing critical insights to refine and enhance their doctoral trajectory. Research will be showcased through a poster exhibition during the conference, offering visibility within the global computational design community.
The workshop introduces researchers to diverse methodologies across various CAAD schools worldwide, helping them position their work within the CAAD research landscape. The two most outstanding presenters will be selected to participate in the International PhD CAAD Workshop 2026, offering an extended platform for international recognition and collaboration.

The ACADIA 2026 team is excited to announce the Call for Workshop Proposals for the upcoming conference, “HUMANISM RECODED: Reframing Computation and Making through Embodiment and Culture”. Workshops will be held in person, online and /or hybrid, leveraging facilities and equipment at LTU as well as hosted across the city of Detroit in collaboration with local firms located in landmark historic buildings downtown. We encourage proposals that engage with the conference theme and utilize the available resources to push the boundaries of digital design and fabrication.
We invite workshop proposals that explore the emerging intersections between technology and architecture, fostering innovation in design, fabrication, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Workshops should provide hands-on, exploratory, and experimental learning experiences for participants. We welcome submissions in the following thematic areas:
Advanced Computational Workflows
Autonomous and Hybrid Fabrication
Material Innovation and Ecological Practices
Design, Storytelling, and Cultural Narratives
