crys cole & Oren Ambarchi 'Sparkling or Silent' (SPGRM018) Out May 15 as a limited split LP shared with @senufoeditions and digital formats on all platforms. Mastered by @senufoeditions Pic by Zu Studios Design by @stephenomalley74 Texts by @kasseljaeger Released by @shelter_press x @inagrm Available for preorder via @bandcamp > link in bio Distribution via @secretlydistribution 'Sparkling or Silent', by the duo composed of crys cole and Oren Ambarchi, is a moment apart in their respective artistic approaches, taking a step aside and marking a point of fixation around an electroacoustic method which, while always latent in both of their works, here asserts itself as a central compositional modality. However, the electroacoustic approach is not called upon here for its formal reasons, or even less as an aesthetic line to follow. On the contrary, it is seen as a writing tool, open to all possible sonic possibilities, a tool that allows the artist to draw, within the sound itself, an intertwined space where reminiscences, impressions and sensations weave a narrative on the edge of the imagination and the moments experienced together, a narrative in which a complex and sensitive layer of sound is embedded, blurring the boundaries between artistic project, intimate journey and shared dreams.

settantaventidue is pleased to invite you to the performance by crys cole . Tuesday the 3rd of June 2025 starting at 20:00: Keeping the Ball Rolling + Making Conversation . Places are limited and access to the performance requires booking with a suggested donation of 11 Euro that will be entirely given to the artist. Links below 20:00 Keeping The Ball Rolling + Making Conversation /donate/?hosted_button_id=9DAXSGS7UMFZW . Canadian sound artist crys cole will present two distinct works. Keeping the ball rolling is a site-responsive acoustic performance that activates the architectural and sonic properties of the space through the subtle act of rolling a ball. Initiated in 2014, this ongoing project has been presented in diverse venues internationally, drawing attention to the interplay between gesture, material, and environment. The second work, Making Conversation, is a diffusion of a composition developed in 2023 for installation contexts. Evoking the nocturnal soundscape of Ubud, Bali, the piece is composed entirely from objects and instruments created and selected by cole—eschewing field recordings in favour of a wholly constructed auditory environment. crys cole is a sound artist whose practice spans electroacoustic composition, performance, sculpture, and installation. Through subtle, often imperfect sounds generated via haptic gestures and everyday materials, she creates textural, nuanced works that continuously retune the ear—inviting, engaging, and transporting the listener/viewer. cole has performed widely in solo and collaborative contexts, with artists such as Oren Ambarchi, @david_rosenboom , Ora Clementi (@james.p.rushford , Francis Plagne, @tetuzi.akiyama and many more. #soundart #electroacoustic #performance #diffusion

This week March 20-22 Issue Project Room presents the latest iteration of With Women’s Work, with 3 days of performances, talks and workshops at their Boerum Place venue. I am thrilled to be in NYC to present the work i created for the project - Valid ForeverrRrrRRrrr (pt.1) - live in performance in an expanded set that will also feature my ongoing performance work ‘keeping the ball rolling’. LIVE Saturday March 22. I will also be a part of a special panel discussion on the evening of March 21 with Annea Lockwood & Audrey Chen. I look forward to the whole program with special anticipation for the workshop on scores & composition that Beth Anderson (who’s score ‘Valid for Life’ inspired my piece) will give during the afternoon on March 22. Full details about the project and the wonderful 3-day program are here: /program/womens-work

I had such a wonderful time working on *Finite Eyes* with Anorak @anorakanorak and ORA CLEMENTI ( @james.p.rushford & @absent1 ) and with @debris.facility ☺️✨ Here are a few snaps courtesy of Amy Stuart 🙏 Finite Eyes brought together live-performance, pre-recorded sound, and moving image in an evening exploring the emotive pull and mobilising force of utopian visions. For the Australian premiere of this programme, experimental music duo Ora Clementi and curatorial collective anorak invited two new artistic collaborators, Debris Facility and Melody Woodnutt, to adapt it for the stage. Finite Eyes puts an emphasis on questions surrounding interpretation, the function of memory, and sound within both listener and performer, merging curatorial and compositional techniques. A bespoke stage design forms the environment for three music sets, which are put in dialogue with film and sound works by various artists, reflecting on how seemingly empirical information is manipulated and transformed through the interplay of speech, voice-over, and moving image. Teetering on the borderline where the ephemeral realm of the imaginary converges with situated experiences, Finite Eyes raises questions about how utopian visions are informed by collective fantasies that in turn shape perceptions, memories, and imagined futures. Massive thank you to Channon at Composite @composite_moving_image for having us! Dream team! #16mmfilm #expandedcinema #oraclementi #finiteeyes #anorak #composite #analogue #experimentalsoundart #experimentalfilm
