“Self Portrait 25”, is a foundational work for my upcoming residency in Mexico City. How can a portrait be disassembled and abstracted into a new form? Disfiguring or morphing the body turns it into something almost unrecognizable; leaving texture, shapes, the spirit, and motion to be evidence of its existence. The abject, portraiture, and Afro Futurism will be at the forefront of my research and making. Looking forward to every step of this month long process ^.^
