We’re building a platform, @dobedous , that supports artists who want to teach, honoring their time, their craft, and the realities of earning a living. The goal is simple: create meaningful income streams and genuine community around creative practice.
@dobedous began as Misook’s big vision, and I’ve watched her build it with real intention and heart. When she asked me to join, it felt aligned.
I believe creative practice brings us into a larger conversation of ideas, memory, and experience, something essential to how we live each day.

Started this drawing about 8 years ago, left it at the inked outline, and just picked it up again. Now adding depth with pencil. It’s so fun, I don’t want to stop!

Erika: How about getting in the car to go to work at 8am and discovering that my daughter had turned on the car light the night before. Dead battery…then after waiting for a jump for an hour and with 15 minutes to get to the Bronx from Jackson Heights, Queens, the google maps sends me over the GW bridge into Jersey…Motherfucker! 04.28.13

One day, I got really mad at my husband and did these drawings to let off steam.
I then asked my women friends to share their angry motherfucker moments with me, and I used their personal stories as the subject of my drawings. I did most of these drawings from 2013-2018 and called this series, “Women Saying Motherfucker”.
Recently, I revisited these drawings and felt the urge to add color. I’ve scanned the original ink drawings and I am now working to add color digitally. As I finish them, I will share them here.
The original drawings were done with brush and quill pen and ink on bristol papers.
By the way, I am not angry at my husband anymore.
