Growing up, I’ve always felt a special connection with animals especially during ileya Festival (Eid al-Kabir).
To relive that memory, I decided to visit a nearby farm and see if I could bring it to life.
During my visit, I met a young boy named Suleiman. After observing his activities on the farm, I approached him with a few questions.
Something about him reminded me of those childhood memories I was trying to reconnect with.
Getting to know Suleiman has shown me the strength and resilience of a young boy doing his best to survive and grow.

Enjoyed every moment of my time in Adamawa State, in the Northeast of Nigeria 🇳🇬
The people were very welcoming, and the food was amazing, but the weather was really hot 😅
I also met someone, Mall Inuwa Hamza Attah while I was filming on the street. He showed interest in what I was doing, so I asked if he’d like to feature in my film and he agreed without hesitation.
It was truly a great experience overall.

While filming ‘Reminder’, there came a moment when I had to interview Mallam Muhammad Garo. As he spoke about his mother, he broke down in tears. Truly, there is no love like that of a mother.
May Allah guide and protect our parents, and allow them to enjoy the fruits of their labor. And for those who have lost their parents, may Allah grant them Jannatul Firdaus and ease their hearts, for losing a loved one is never easy.
REMINDER: A call to our Ibadah
For years, I have noticed Mall Muhammad Garo at the corner of the mosque either reciting the Qur’an or quietly eating. He is always there.
Over time, his constant presence drew my curiosity, and I decided to ask one of the mosque’s committee members about him: who he was and why he was always seated in front of the mosque.
I was told that Mallam Muhammed cleans the mosque every day and lives his life around that very corner.
This deeply touched my heart as we are taught in the Hadith of the Prophet (ﷺ) that when you clean the mosque, it is as though you are cleaning your own grave, the place you will rest after this life, and that the true reward for this deed is in Jannah.
This made me reflect deeply. Here is a man who has humbled himself, who cleans voluntarily, content with his role, fully aware that there may be no reward for his actions in this world. He does it solely for the reward of the Hereafter.
That realization moved me to document his story as a reminder to Muslims around the world not to forget the true meaning of ibadah, sincerity, and service for the sake of Allah alone.
