As a creative that’s focused on post production, the major problem you will have to face is “lack of creative freedom”.
I’m at a point in my life where I have found peace with a client saying, I don’t like this, I like that. This is one thing you need to learn as a colorist, even though this doesn’t align with the reason you started and when it happens from time to time, it takes out the love you used to have for filmmaking.
A way out is to shoot your thing, and do whatever you want with your timeline.
This post is a perfect example of “lack of creative freedom”, in this case, the director was cool with the blue shift, however the client had the final say and he went with the natural look.
Both looks are good but being a creative, I would go with “MAGIKAL”
TO EVERY PASSIONATE POST GUY, SHOOT YOUR THING, DO YOUR THING AND STAY HAPPY 😊.

Starting out as a filmmaker, I realized the major problem with Directors, is not giving their images the Right moods and this drove my passion for color grading, so I think it’s time to give back.
This is a call to all Directors with PASSION PROJECTS (Documentary or Short Film).
If you’re working on a film driven by purpose, impact, or pure creative passion, We are offering one lucky Director a charitable color grading partnership.
We are looking to support stories that deserve to be felt, seen, and remembered.
Apply by submitting your project concept, current stage, and creative intent for consideration.
All the best☺️
