First full-garment upcycle!
She was a tricky one. The linen was ultra soft and pretty finicky to cut. I had juuuuuuuust enough 🙌🏼. The skirt was a hand-me-down from my momma and I’m pretty stoked to see it repurposed on my son.
Sewing is cool. 🥲

Creating [anything] with small children around is such a trip. I’m a pretty efficient ‘maker’ of things. I can sit for hours and hyper fixate on my project, I like to clean as I go, usually hate stopping and leaving a task unfinished, etc. I also love having my daughter join me so all of the above goes out the window 😂. IYKYK. Every now and then though, I admit, I get discouraged by how inefficiently we move through the day.
I recently heard (maybe E. Elliott?) talk about the obsession we have with efficiency. That although, a great work ethic, it is not the ultimate goal. If Christ wanted to be efficient, He wouldn’t have started off by being born as a baby. He wouldn’t have chosen uneducated men to follow Him. Efficiency is great, but ultimately we are just called to be faithful. 🥲
Mamas, just some encouragement for you. Isn’t it a beautiful thing, that we should slow down to fearfully and wonderfully mold these little lives as Christ, the great potter, did and does for us?
“For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you,
